aginnebraska, I've no idea if he's guilty or not but it seems the proper course by TPD is to drop case or turn evidence to grand jury...not to wait a year to do either. This is the thing that looks bad. Witnesses memories don't get better with time.

Winston was a 5 star dual threat QB, the #10 recruit in the nation, #1 QB, and #1 recruit in Florida. That kind of recruit absolutely gets protected.

#1 recruit in Florida? That's funny because he's from Hueytown, Alabama. I hope no woman was sexually assaulted, but if she was, he needs to be prosecuted to the full extent.

Schad reports he's exercising his right not to speak to police...isn't that pleading the 5th (aka self incrimination)? Are there other rights not to cooperate or speak to police that I'm not aware of?

you never have to speak to the police.

EVER

True but what's the point if he's not a rapist? Even if it was consensual? I figured too much law and order polluted my brain by just assuming theres no point in lawyering up if you aren't guilty and have witnesses or they have no case. Plus the worst possible scenario publicly is people drawing their own conclusions, like this entire thread. Just seems dumb but I guess he has that right.

Every new article makes things look a little worse for Famous. Won't be the first time the cops tried to or did cover something up. Kudos to the victim and or her friends for going to the media. And TMZ was the perfect choice. They don't care who they tick off.

He may not wind up being charged but it is going to make for a rough road for a while. Might even see a few cops wind up unemployed - as they should be for not doing their job the way it is supposed to be done!

This should have been handled in due time. He should have kept his mouth shut about Manziel disease. Karma's a beotch.

All things considered, Heisman should go to JFF, Winston, or some representative of the Bama defense. McCarron's the worst player on their team, so it would be the greatest injustice if he won.

But after all that, the Heisman's just an award given by a bunch of stupid sportswriters. We all vote for our own Heisman in our own mind.

The most important thing of all, ever, is to win the next game. Then let the chips fall where they may.

For those of you that think Winston was an unknown, he was far from that. He was pegged as the savior. Remember he was redshirted because their started was pretty good...EJ Manuel

Winston was one of the top recruits in the nation coming out. This guy was propped up from day one...

You have very very little chance of talking yourself out of being a suspect. You will likely talk yourself into more suspicion. Good lawyers can generally see deeper reasoning in the completely optional questions asked by the police.

They also know how to answer questions in a way that will not return in a twisted way in a courtroom (if it gets that far). Essentially, it is the job of the enforcers (police) to get you to the judiciary (judge) regardless of your guilt or lack thereof.

notice the Miranda Warning does not say may, but will. It also specifically says against. Basically, nothing you say will help you. They are simply trying to get you to dig the ground you stand on.

Think about everything you've ever seen or heard about over zealous DAs, then reconsider your thought/opinion.

If that doesn't work, google whether your thought/opinion is smart/rational

If that doesn't work, listen to a random texags poster: That train of thought is really, really stupid. Really stupid. Borderline retarded.

If that doesn't work, ask Johnny if it's ok to let go of his nuts and reconsider whether that train of thought is worth Jff getting heisman again, because that seems to be the only reason one would think (and really believe) that.

Rumor is that he was with friends at a party and one of his buddies was with the woman. There is even speculation that his friend may have told the girl hist name was jameis.

Isn't it already established that she was assaulted? And now they're just trying to determine who did it?
Blaser270
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Considering they took evidence from the female it should be easy enough to determine who the assailant was via DNA testing.

FWIW as a police officer you do your best to get the perpetrator to talk to you and in the process you find nuggets of information that you don't have via any other means. I can recall years back when an offender cooperated with the police and 'fessed up' it was taken into consideration by the judge who saw it as someone who owned up to what they did and helped lighten the punishment. The latter years I was in the business that didn't seem to be the case anymore. Thus there is no reason to cooperate unless you really have a hankering to spend some time in jail.

On that same note when you refuse to cooperate and give a statement you can inspire some cops to work their tail off to try and put you away. Sort of a no win situation.

however, you'd be surprised how fast 5 original signatures can turn into 5,000 authenticated copies of original signatures.

edited for clarity.

This sounds plausible. So why doesn't Jameis' attorney identify the man and then police can charge someone other than Jameis with the crime? If the truth is as simple as the rumor suggests, then the solution to all of this is just as simple.

Unless of course he was more involved. Then he probably shouldnt point the finger at anyone because then he'll be further implicated.

No one. And I hope Johnny made more than $7500 on those signatures.

At least he doesn't have to assault chicks to get some ass. Some people in Tallahassee and Austin don't have that luxury.

Who would be dumb enough to believe that 5000 "authenticated" signatures were all legit? I don't know what Johnny did or didn't do or who got paid or didn't get paid, but it is in the best interests of any sources who came from within the memorabilia business to try to legitimize as many signatures as possible by inflating the numbers, and any "journalist" who took the numbers at face value either had a specific agenda, or is unbelievably incompetent.
