I'm not sold on Allen. I think his cap is a Showers type. He is good but I can see Kenny Hill being several steps ahead and the potential for Murray or some other recruit to leap frog Allen.

Murray doesn't seem too excited about coming here, so let's let him make up his mind first ...

Leaps and bounds better than showers was.

Why do you care DRE? I'm sure you think our defense will still be "underperforming" under Snyder.

And what are you basing this opinion on?

Why are y'all assuming kyler is coming here? Sure his dad is a legacy, but if he was so intent on coming here wouldn't he already have committed?

What if everyone goes pro and we have to field a true 12th man team. Efff the NFL!

He's a jr in high school. Only about 1% of his class has committed anywhere.

While there are no locks until signing day, he's as close to a lock as it gets right now.

Well, we know two things right now:

Jack and ****.

Too many sure things flop. I'm sure y'all can remeber a few.

The flip side is so MANY nobodies emerge from obscurity to become champions.

The salent feature is the emotional, biochemical, intilectual and neurological cocktail that makes up the ingrediants of each player. Allen could turn into Garret Gilbert and Kyler Murry might eclipse his old man. There are TOO many factors that even our coaches don't know yet.

To quote the devil, "Potential is just another way of saying you haven't done anything yet (DKR)."

That rumbling sound you hear is the non-poors on the premium board falling over themselves ready to say "Put me - and my fat old ass - in coach!"

Great topic OP but the intangible is not settled on when JF will go to the league and get drafted in the top 5. Also don't be ripping on Showers, kid has a Ring and starting his 2 year career at Utep and then who knows? BTW as mentioned before Kyle Allen will be on your TV Friday night with his HS game.

Matt Davis was the QB of the future, remember? Jimmy Clausen, Gilbert etc... That's why you have multiple QB's. Its not an easy position to recruit. Especially in this unique offense. All we've seen from Kenny Hill is a few minutes of junk time.

I will say this, in a top notch program, not every "highly touted" QB can come in and stamp his feet if he doesn't start right away. Put in your time learning the O, and when the stud ahead of you cashes in for the league, it's your turn. That's how it works in the big leagues. If you want to play on day 1, go to Rice or Baylor.

Nothing? I thought y'all would like this trip down memory lane where we had too many awesome QBs.
