The stadium moves during the "saw em off" if you stand still in the press box on top of the alumni side. Nearly knocked Bush Sr. off his feet a couple of years ago while he was in the hallway up there. It's a pretty scary feeling, but I figure if it would've fallen, it would have done so by now so I feel safe!

At least 7 years ago I was on the second deck during yell and it was "bouncing." I've seen a guy on the west side with a seismograph measuring the movement of Kyle. I don't think this is news

I was always paranoid about the decks crumbling under the swaying of the 12th man and tomorrow will be absolutely packed with uber-swayers.

I was standing on the first deck when this happened.

Also, it was not during the swaying part of the war hymn. UT was the very end where the band starts going extremely fast.

Again, I have no idea what they did to make it move that much. But after tomorrow's game ill never stand up there till after the reconstruction

The stadium has been packed out twice this season with no problems. I can't help but think you are being over dramatic.

You were on the first deck and saw the second deck move inches...and the second deck didn't **** themselves? Have a very hard time imagining a structure that large falling inches and not totally collapsing.

I will gladly take the tickets of anyone too scared to sit on the 2nd deck tomorrow. I'll even meet you at Kyle.

I was on the second deck and felt it move up and down. Didn't seem normal, but it stopped pretty quickly so I didn't think anything of it.

Last year I was on 1st deck below 2nd deck. I can assure you all that that son of ***** bends! I don't know how cement can flex like that. 15 years ago When I was a student it wouldn't have bothered me, but last year it concerned me. I did not like being beneath that deck.

I hope I'm wrong, but people were talking about bonfire's structural stability when it fell in 1994 (I think). A collapsing deck would be disastrous.

Edit for clarity: when I say 'bend' I mean it goes up and down by at least a foot or two

No you are not. Really made me nervous.

EA: I was on third deck tonight. But last year it was the portion that overhangs. Imagine a diving board.

Happened last year before Florida, I'm talking a vertical movement of 3-4'. As an engineer I was very disturbed. It seemed the torque at the lower half was way to much for the structure.

Saw it as well, I was on the last row of first deck and the second deck was bouncing a solid 6 inches at the end of the overhang. Everyone around us saw it and couldn't believe it. Not a sway, but a bounce. It was pretty wild. Only lasted about 5-6 oscillations. No, the observers are not drunk, and I've never noticed that happening).

Edit: To confirm others posts -- it was at the very end of the war hymn as the band played at a very quick tempo. I'm an ME (not CE), but I was amazed concrete could flex that much.

I was at the top of the 3rd and expected some movement after we sawed em off, but I didn't notice

I've been on 2nd and 3rd deck and felt a slight sway for War Hymn but I have never felt it move like I felt Bryan Denny move up in the end zone nose bleeds after Cooper scored that long pass last year. That thing buckled

I would assume this is kind of like standing on top of a wooden electrical pole that is 50' tall. From the ground it doesn't appear to move. You stand on top and that thing is moving all over the place. Still sturdy though.
