Was talking to a friend who went to the new mexico game. She said there are alot of cracks and chipped cement in the stadium walls which worried her during the game. Anyone else notice it? For all you 3rd row people, eat lightly and pray i guess....
been like that for years..there are places where the wall is about an inch from the deck foundation and places on the 2nd deck where there are holes in the foundation and you can see right down to the 1st deck. I hear the zone is in good shape though.
no, 3rd deck sits behind 2nd deck..so I think the 3rd deck will just fall off the back of the stadium..2nd deck overhangs the 1st deck so it would ride the 1st deck down, and 3rd deck would just snap and still fall off back of stadium. 2nd deck is safest place!
Not so fast about the zone. Serious cracks and getting much worse have developed at the west side ramp of the zone. Looks like it could be an alkalai-silica reaction or something similar. It is a lot worse than last year.
I think they should renovate the whole stadium after seeing how nice ou and t.u.'s stadium looked. I know its more about the team you put on the field than the stadium but nice bathrooms would be appreciated
Well, they did tear down old Yankee Stadium last year, due in large part to chunks of old concrete falling off the decks. I'd have to assume that the Civil Engineering profession has some sort of inspection guidelines about high-occupancy structures. Concrete does crack, rebar corrodes, and foundations shift under loads.
