I concur.

What took this picture and was it FAA legal?

This has prolly been discussed, but I don't want to comb through all these pages. What are they adding on to the rec?

quote:They obviously took the tact of building the west side in whatever way maximized revenue, regardless of how it would mesh up with the North/South ends. I don't fault them for it, but I agree, it makes for a bit of a frankenstadium. No matter what, it will look amazing when finished and full of Ags.
First this is not a *****ing post about asymmetry...it is kind of an endearing quality about new new Kyle...that being said...the NW corner seating...second deck...ending in a triangular section. Very odd. Almost every corner of the new old lady has something funky about it. My architect brother keeps saying he'd love to talk to the architect behind this project as he finds many parts of the project different, puzzling but unique!
quote:I don't think he was questioning why it didn't match up, but rather why they chose to end that section in an odd triangular point in the NW corner. It does seem a bit confusing. All four corners have their own personality. I say embrace it. At least it isn't cookie cutter.
The west side decks are lower and closer to the field than they would be if they had been built to match up.

it will do, but it ain't the "end all, be all" of football stadiums. Way overhyped.
quote:After moving various cannons from outside the SE corner to the practice field to the top of SE tower, they finally put the original (Spirit of '02) in the SW corner tunnel. Seemed to work well there, but also seemed to be sort of "temporary".quote:

Didn't they have it on the field at the end of last season?
quote:How do you figure? It has always (save for the first game or two last year) been inside the stadium with no impact to capacity.
Putting the cannon anywhere in the stadium would mean giving up capacity of some sort. And based upon what I've been reading here...
quote:I guess my point of view is from 20 years ago when there was a track running around field and an open south end. I would assume they would want some separation between the cannon and the crowd for smoke/noise. No extra space at all with the new layout. Allows fans to be close to the action, but makes me wonder where they would fit the cannon. However, it sounds as if it worked last year putting the cannon towards one of the tunnels.
