Rec expansion. Doubling weight room, new cafe, additional indoor courts, new swimming facilities, new event rooms. Paid for without raising fees.

My architect brother keeps saying he'd love to talk to the architect behind this project as he finds many parts of the project different, puzzling but unique!

The west side decks are lower and closer to the field than they would be if they had been built to match up.
New Kyle Field is all about function and a result of circumstance with some architecture glued to it to disguise the mess.

That said, I wish the funding and/or planning was there to make the SEZ facade match the rest. Again, not a big deal. The place is going to be awesome!

Compared to what we had before this stadium is not overhyped. New Kyle is 1,000 times better than old Kyle

It still seems ridiculous to me that the cannon location wasn't planned/designed for from the beginning, despite questions and discussion about it from the beginning.
Until you see a person of authority stand in front of a camera and promise that it will be included inside the stadium, it should remain an ongoing point of concern for PMC and anyone that cares about keeping the tradition.
The situation was fixed last year but that shouldn't be taken as indicating permanence.
It's already been suggested that there's been renewed efforts to have it removed from inside the stadium, and I don't know by who so I may well be perpetuating a rumor with no basis. All the same, I think the above still holds true.

Putting the cannon anywhere in the stadium would mean giving up capacity of some sort. And based upon what I've been reading here...

It was actually In the SW tunnel, but fired towards the NE - over the field.

I don't particularly care if it never comes back.
I was in town yesterday, if you haven't been there since last season, let me tell you, it's VERY IMPRESSIVE...driving by the west side on the road, new addition is big! And got to see the zone, it's beautiful, there is also a "smoking" deck in the middle or a patio whatever you wanna call it looks super classy
