It's not until substantial donations for the cause are made.

I wouldn't wait on it.

The soundbite on that is that it can be done but the money was spent elsewhere in this round of construction. If it's something that fans really want added on later then there can be a fundraising and it can be added.

The only brick on the south faade renderings was up to the point where the supports started angling back, IIRC. In order to get the capacity number up, those overhanging supports became larger, and the straight up and down vertical portions pretty much disappeared behind the Bright building, making a brick faade in that area pointless. You could do something to dress that up if you wanted, like the decorative screen they have at the Cotton Bowl or graphic banners, but, frankly, I think it looks fine the way it is. Go see it in person from George Bush drive, up around the golf course--the steel doesn't look out of place in the context of the entire structure.

Houston Street was also shown to be repaved and enhanced color changing LED lighting was proposed. I've seen docs that mention renovating Spence Park at a later if funds are raised.

Repaving an existing road with brick and adding a facade on the backside of the stadium don't really affect the fan experience and are more cosmetic than anything. My sense is that the funds were allocated to higher finish out and covering cost overages, which I have no complaints with.

I agree about the bricks and Houston Street, Fitch but I do think the LED lights and those laser things would be sweet though.

So they finish out the second deck on the north end, but still leave partially built section from weeks ago on the south end? I tell you, my OCD is kicking into overdrive watching this. I don't think I could ever work in the construction industry.

Doing it right would have meant stopping at 97,000 or thereabouts. Once you decide to extend the upper deck way out over the Bright building, your options for having a faade on that side that matches the other three are nil.

Just slap a couple more floors on Bright and it will hide the facade-less SEZ.

One thing to consider is that leaving the SEZ brickless also makes it less noticeable that the Bright Complex is a different color brick than the stadium.

So, some additional brick on the OUTSIDE of the stadium would make it a better gameday atmosphere than an extra 10k people in your mind?

So why not have any brick facade at all and let the MEP just be exposed to the world. I mean all we really need is a football team that performs. Why have nice things?

I know I'm in the minority, but the south end zone really doesn't bother me. Granted, I've been around it a lot more than most, so that may have something to do with it, but it doesn't bother me at all. Could it look better? Sure. But is it as big of a problem as some people make it seem? Not in my opinion
