Ok so I've run into a problem. There really isn't anywhere I can go to get a good shot of the construction happening on the field. I walked around the entire stadium, and I could only get 1 crappy angle due to the area that they've roped off for construction. Here's the pictures I did manage to take though

Thanks for the pics. The webcams are cool but you can't see a whole lot of detail, so the pics really help for those of us who don't get up there very often!

I was reading the timeline for the renovation earlier and it noted that the work on the facade of the Zone was supposed to start at this time as well. I was just curious if that had started yet?

How do they plan to fill in the corners between the Zone and west decks with the new tower in the way? I would think the build would have been the stadium first and towers last.

Keep the pics coming... those construction cams are just too far away from the action and keep repeating themselves.

Better tell em. They might not have it figured out.

Oh, my bad. If it was a legit question, I figured you would have studied it and done more than ask a question to the zoo.

To answer your question:

It's about real estate. The corners were the only places they could get a jump on the construction since those areas are not used at all during the week and knocking down G Rollie offered up a large space. Knocking down Reed then opened up the next large section.

They have been working everywhere they could that would not impede stadium and game day operations. Now that home games are done, it's "no holds barred".

As far as the coffee, that's what interns are for.

Oh the horrible things I would have done to have my CoSci internship on this project...

How will they get the escalators inside the tower once it is built? Wouldn't it make more sense to install the escalators and stairs first and then build the tower around them?

Looking through here.....just reminds me that Kyle Field really does need some upgrading. However its been that way for so long it makes it hard to let go! A great update to a classic icon in college football.

Will these corner towers support the weight of the Swagger Copter pad?

The top of the northeast circulation tower actually opens and closes to allow the swagger copter to come and go vertically "AirWolf-style".
