They could have put the patch on that one jersey just to catch us (and maybe the players) by surprise when they see the new ones.

The black jerseys was a big surprise to the players to excite them. Everything was kept top secret. I'm sure the mannequin before the Mississippi state game was dressed in some white combination before leaving and we still got the black.

One jersey with a patch sewed on means nothing. Sumlin will go to certain extremes to keep stuff a secret.

Adidas is, in fact, unveiling new Techfit uniforms for several of their teams this bowl season. Didn't ever get a confirm whether we were one of those schools or not, but apparently we are.
