Why do people make such a big deal out of calling them "tu" and "the sips"?

It just makes it look like we have some sort of obsession or complex about them.

I mean who cares? They are the past.

To me it is just UT or Texas

obviously, nobody cares about your opinion

Some people are humor impaired and just can't handle intrastate collegiate rivalries.

It annoys the sips and most aggies think it's funny. They decided 50 years ago that they only wanted to be called The University of Texas.....no more Texas U. . Aggies refused to comply. Hell, we would have had to change the lyrics to The War Hymn.

It's like a kid turning 18 and demanding that everyone call him Michael instead of Mickey. Some of his older siblings and cousins may not honor his preference.
