You obviously didn't see the PI call against arkislaw back in 88 or 89 in the old swc. That was the call that changed the rule that swc refs could not ref a game if they went to one of the schools.

These refs are certainly earning their paychecks, obeying their orders to make sure 'Bama gets to the NCG. I think the ref even looked a little embarrassed making that last holding call knowing they've been totally ignoring Alabama holds all day long.

Refs in the SEC protect the favored team, even more than in the Big Whatever. That was a total BS call. Bumps happens in the first five yards, and there is nothing in the rule book that says the offensive player cannot bump back, or at the same time within that yardage.
