Am I stupid for worrying about LaTech more than Ole Miss

Spare me the "focus on this week" bullshtt.

Ole Miss is 1-15 over the last two seasons (2010-2011). Sure Ill, UofH and Virginia arent great powers but La Tech has plenty of momentum and will be playing with confidence and ready to smash heads.

Both these games are away, so it helps them. But neither of these games should be aired nationally, so we have that going for us.

Are these both trap games?

they are both games we should win.

so far this staff has had us win games we should win (and by good margins)

so im not sure if they are "traps" but, if the trend continues, we should win both handedly.

No, you're not stupid for thinking that. But, it does not preclude you from just being stupid.

No. You're not.

LaTech will be a harder win than Ole Miss, but consider this: LaTech has lost their starting RB, and they've been laying numbers on crap opponents. They are better than their competition, but that doesn't mean they're better than us.

Tceh is currently #1 in total defense. Would you be scared to play them? Baylol is top-10 in total offense right now, would you be scared of them?

LaTech is better than their current conference, and they COULD pull an upset if certain things fall their way, but I'm not expecting a loss.

Stupid or not, I've said it repeatedly.

I, for one, am puposely overlooking La Tech.

Screw 'em.

We play Ole Miss and then start preparing for LSU @ my house.

La tech is giving up about 35 points a game to bad teams. It will be about a 50/50 crowd for the Ags. I will be disappointed if we don't hang 60 on them.

I don't worry much about other folks worries as I have enough worries of my own.

LaTech runs a somewhat similar offense to Arky, but with a worse QB. Granted, all the Arky fallout made their offense a little worse, but if LaTech is at all similar, I feel some turnovers brewing in our favor. We'll be fine.

Yes, I'm more worried about La Tech than I am Ole Miss.

I'm worried about both of them.

No. Plus we will be without Jenkins and Matthews for the LA TECH game. Both have been playing a lot lately.

Lolz at being worried about Ole Miss or La Tech. Manziel won't play a down in the 4th quarter until LSU.

At this point I'm not worried about either. I thought JFF would progress slowly this year, but the kid gets better each week. Our defense is also showing some nice swagg. We should beat them both by at least 2 tds.

Overlooking game--any game--will make us like the sips: so wrapped up in their own image of themselves the fall is astounding (like sip being beat at home by Iowa State, a terrible UCLA team, etc.).

The last 15 years of Aggie football has taught us (even more than we already knew) is that good teams don't underestimate opponents (Ark State, a no win Colorado team winning at Kyle, any loss to Baylor, etc.).

So yes, they are traps. Traps for any team that imagines it can look past anyone. For any reason.

Humble, hard working teams have much better opportunities than self-impressed prima donnas (Like, reportedly, when the sip coaching staff said before the Iowa State game "Okay, we all know we're going to win, . . .").

Both are easy wins. Focus on LSU. Do a hundred E-P90Xes to repent.

We will beat the **** out of Ole Miss, then we will beat the **** out of La Tech.

La Tech hasn't played anybody good, and Houston and Rice put up big offensive numbers against them.

yes you are. La tech has a worse defense than arky. there is no possible way that they will be able to keep up with us

I'm honestly not worried about either team. Sumlin has shown that he has been able to get the team up for every game so far and has taken care of business. I see no reason why it won't continue the next 2 weeks. I honestly don't think we have had a head coach with this much fire since Jackie Sherril.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
agree...and Sumlin always says to his team..."It is about us....not the other team"! Jackie used to say that too!

I will say yes, its stupid to worry more about La Tech.

They have played a bunch of hot garbage teams and have one of the worst defenses in the nation.

why would you be worried about a team like this?

La Tech is not a true road game. While it won't be like SMU where we outnumber them in their own stadium, we are going to have a significant contingent of fans there. It's not like Ole Miss is an intimidating place to play either but I wouldn't think Bulldog fans would outclass them. Remember, this game was struggling to hit the 30k mark when it was the season opener. They were only going to bring 20-25k fans max. Their only home game vs Rice brought just 23k. I know its Rice but it was still the home opener for a defending conference champ with goals of being a BCS buster.

also, they are both going to get national coverage. Ole Miss has already been announced for ESPNU and the La Tech game is set for an ESPN network. Probably ESPNU or ESPN2.

Should not worry about either of these. The real question is, will LSU implode before we play them. They have been playing just well enough to win against mediocre opponents, and I would hate for them to be just another "mediocre" team on our schedule by the time we play them.

Yes, Ole Miss has some real playmakers and they have been playing SEC competition. I think they will prove very difficult to beat in Oxford.

2 Questions:

1) Do you really expect them to score 40 Points on our defense when no one else has scored more than 20???

2) Do you really think they will hold our offense to less than 40 points with their defense being one of the worst in college football???

I didnt expect Ole Miss to score 2 TDs on Alabama. (and no they werent trash time TDs). I am still waiting on JFFs first pick six. And I think it happens with LaTech. Idk if we have seen an offense like LaTech, they sure put up plenty of points compared to FL and Arky. I can see a situation where we drop either one of these 35-38. We score 5 TDs and have a few bad possessions where we fail to get a first down and then where are we?

How long do you want to ignore this user?
I dont see La Tech stopping us any more than Arkansas did. I see us allowing ~17 to La Tech.

Ole Miss I see putting up maybe 21 or so, but us scoring around 45.
DeckAggie
How long do you want to ignore this user?
We should be heavy favorites in both games. La Tech will be amped though seeing as we're pretty much the only thing standing in the way of an undefeated season for them.
