James is a good guy. I've met and spoke with him. All he did was take his son's side in the Leach matter, and as a father I hope that he would. No one here knows what really happened and there are always two-sides to a story. The was Leach's "e-mail" scandal that just made it easier for the big wigs to fire him, nothing more.

He did a lot more than that. He would call Tech's WR coaches on a daily basis cussing them out about his sons playing time. It got so bad the coaches would regularly record James's tirades. Hope those tapes get leaked when he tries to fun for the Senate.

The only thing I don't like about him is the Tceh thing. It worked out great for us, but I like Leach, and James came out as a spoiled little brat weilding his power as an ESPN analyst.

Oh, and the 5 hookers thing. That was f***** up.

When Craig James was in his last year at SMU my dad was shopping for a Porsche 928 and so happened to come across an ad for a lightly used one (one owner, only a couple years old) in Dallas. Seller turned out to be Craig James. That was an $80k car when it was new.

Really is a good guy. About as normal a "celebrity" as you can meet. Wife and kids are really nice as well. Two sides to every story on the tard deal. If his son was a ****** and/or not liked by the team and other coaches, there is no way he comes back and plays again. Their other son goes to tech as well so no problem there either. He really likes A&M and never takes shots like most of the others. He has some great recruiting/college/pro stories that are funny as heck.

How is this a good thing? Aikman is the finest example of why a former athlete shouldn't automatically become a broadcaster.

That's like saying you don't understand why people disliked Ted Bundy.

He should turn out to be a wonderful politician. he learned to take money at SMU and blame others. Then he whined about the way his kid was treated at Tech--when Leach wanted the kid to grow up and be a better person than his father was. (and I hated Leach when he was a tech) but he was railroaded because the kids father.

Let's remember what former Kentucky coach Hal Mumme said of James.

Aikman is an excellent announcer.
