back when teams feared our defense, perhaps the last time that actually happened

sitting in Duddleys on a Thursday night...

Thursday night on ESPN. 36 frigid degrees in Fort Worth. I didn't have cable, so I watched it in the TV lounge at Law Hall. TCU had a ton of injuries that night, but none of the others approached this.

A lot nicer up here in Cowtown today.

I was there! Freezing my ayse off. And there were 4 dbags shirtless with ESPN painted on their chests trying to get on TV. Reminds me of okie lite and ou fans.

Tcu newspaper headline the next day; "Aggies add injury to insult,"

No it wouldn't. He doesn't lead with the helmet. It's a clean hit.

It probably would have drawn a flag, and who would have cared.

McPhearson (sp?) would be considered helpless as he was in the act of trying to catch the ball.

From that angle it looks like sasquatch came on to the field and got mad at getting messed with.

After the game, some students high fived me and called me old Ag (first time that ever happened to me)

I was in the band. I was there. Man, it was cold that night. It seemed to make the sound reverberate.

Kinda sad that 20 yrs later, a single play is about all we have to celebrate.

I was there. Sitting at about the 10 yard line, half way up on the Visitor's side. Cold night, but fun. I didn't remember it was a Thursday Night, but remember it being on TV.

That's my favorite part.

Was watching it on tv in my apartment. Absolutely remember that play and will never forget it either! I wish we had a defense today like we did when I was in school: 1990-1994.

It's sad that we have to think back to a hit that happened 20 years ago to feel some pride in our defense. Hits like that happen every Saturday in the SEC.

I was there w/ my dad and it was cold as sheet. Great game. We went to corps march in that morning in downtown which blew me away.

McPhearson (sp?) remembered running his route and then waking up in the hospital with his jaw wired shut and broken in three places.

Can we please, for the love of all that is good, show this over and over again to our defense so they understand how to HIT people?

Anyone who thinks that hit would not be illegal today obviously does not watch much college football.. You don't have to lead with your helmet to be a penalty.
That hit today would be called "targeting a defenseless receiver". The receiver left his feet..you cannot hit him. Also would called because he hit him above the shoulder.
That's a penalty in todays football..I don't agree with it and football continues to be pussified. But again anyone who does not think that draws a flag today is an idiot.
The standing over receiver would draw a flag for taunting in todays game also.
