I was number one in line and got row 16. The computer definitely sees "best available seat" as the best available section, and THEN the best available seat. It doesn't really pyramid at all anymore, i dont think. They definitely just filled up section 231 first, then moved onto the next section, which had better seats.

It sucks, and i'm fairly upset about it, but there's not much we can do about it now. If enough people complain to the ticket office, it might change for next time. (a fat lot of good that does to us graduating seniors...) They definitely need to reconsider what the "best available" seats are, though.

I was at window 1 but the guy that pulled in my spot at window 10 got screwed as well. These are the worst seats I have had in 3 years.

Why would they fill up 231 first when I have been getting 232 all year long? Why would they change it for this pull?

To clarify with everyone that doesnt know how it works. IT IS NOT RANDOM! We have camped other times this year and they start with the two 50 yard line sections at the 1st row. The computer fills those up all the way so you could have someone be 38th row at the 50 and the next person is 1st row at the 40.

The guy posting about his better seats has a section over. THE REAL PROBLEM is apparently around 400 tickets were taken off the top. The most apparent logic at this point is by the student workers. This HAS NEVER HAPPENED THIS YEAR. I heard rumors that it did a little at Nebraska last year.

Nebraska last year and Texas this year. THE TWO GAMES WITH THE HIGHEST RESALE VALUE ONLINE.

To the people saying shut up and just go to the game. We camped out for several days and I kept track of around 75 different groups during that time.

The university has the first student in line organize it so that they don't have to pay someone to do it. Your reward is those seats. They have taken those seats away from us and everyone that chose to spend two days in the zone to EARN better spots.

My girlfriend and I were 8th in our line and pulled sec 232, row 11

If they held tickets for student workers, sh*t would hit the fan.

How many people did you pull though. That is about right if you pulled two people. Everybody I know except for one person had 8+.

We pulled 10.

231 row 36 here. 6th in line 10. Pulled for 8

A couple of girls in the line next to me were 5th in their line and pulle row 1, 232.

Im a fan of this thread.

They had to have done 231 all the way up and then went to 232. Only way to explain it. All the people at the front of my line I believe got 231 and that's what I got.

They started at row 11 because the student workers got theirs first and then the people first in line got tickets behind them and then it went all the way up and then went back down to 232. Only way it makes sense to me.

It makes sense...12 seats wide, 10 rows missing. That's exactly how many tickets would be pulled if each window pulled 10 tickets.

You have to take into account the people over at Galveston don't have to wait in line. I pulled at around 8:15 and got 35 yard line, 6th row so no complaining here

It doesn't bother me that the student workers pulled, it's the fact they really f*cked up what section goes first. It's been good all season and now they screwed it up.

Easy dude. Putting stars to get around the censors don't stop you from the delete.

It sucks cause I'm a graduating senior as well. But the pull system is flawed. Since they already have the hardware in place they could completely redo the pull system and fix it so the order of best seats handed out really are the best seats. The full order should be more like a piramid not go up each section then over to the next section. 1st row 40 yard line is undipitedly better than 50yard line above row 10. Even 1st row 30 is a better or equal ticket to 50 yard line above row 10-15.
Lookin into it since they have the hardware. A skilled programmer or two could have the new system done in a couple months. So even paying them top dollar it would only be 40-50k for a awesome new fair ticket system instead of the BS they are pulling now. That would translate to no more than 2-3 dollars per student which I'm sure they can round up on the sports pass fees anyways.

Every time this season I've had worse tickets as a sophomore than as a freshman..... Not just slightly worse either. Like 20 rows worse.

That's the thing though. I think they changed the way the computer does it for THIS game. My only guess is that it would make it more randomized and fair considering we were supposed to get there at 5pm instead of 8am. And since there were already 30 people on each list by then, they figured this would be best. Only guess I have as to why they would change it.

Lol it would not take 40-50k to program new ticket pulling system. Would cost way less than that even if you hired someone. Or you could just make it a project for the computer engineers on campus and get it done for free.

I think the whole point is there should be somewhere online where this whole process is clearly documented, because I think we all know by now that this isn't a true FCFS ticket pull.

Just checked craigslist. Student side guest passes, row 3 at the 50 yard line are currently listed at $500 each. Someone ought to burn for this.

looks like Galveston's alotment was 3rd deck 1st couple rows. So it wasn't them that took the first couple rows from second deck.

As a former student, that's bull s**t. We aren't paying donations to allow students who camped out to get burned. We need to find out who pulled those tix and if it was part of regular pull. If it wasn't, the Ticket Office needs to answer some ?s.
