Lesson from the 1967 team:
The Ags started out a promising season 0-4, including a season opening conference loss to SMU on national television.
Prior to the game against Tech in Lubbock, the team was in their dorm area preparing to leave for the airport for the flight to Lubbock. And it was pouring rain outside. Well, the Aggie student body didn't let that stop them. During this monsoon, thousands of Aggies gathered outside the athletic dorm for a spontaneous yell practice to show support for the team.
The Aggie team was overwhelmed by this show of support. They beat the tards that weekend 28-24 on Edd Hargett's TD run as time expired. They didn't lose another game that year, beating Alabama in the 1968 Cotton Bowl.
It is times like now where Aggies rally together. The team needs our support more than ever. We have 8 regular season games left and a bowl game. Let's start the season this week and go 9-0. We gotta be 1-0 starting this week first, but we still have a lot to play for.
Take a lesson from the '67 team. Circle the wagons with our team and let's push throught this together.
This was posted on the premium board. This needs to happen. Whom do we contact to set this up? We need to find out where they will be before boarding the bus to go to Easterwood to fly to Lubbock. We need to know what time they will be leaving. We should coordinate this to show the team that we are behind them.

Okay, so here's the deal. It won't let me send a mass message on Facebook, so I changed the date and changed it back to give everyone a notification to come back to the page and check it out.
I should be there tomorrow at around 11:45. The busses are supposed to show up at around 12. The plane is scheduled to leave Easterwood at 2 PM. I've been told that the busses arrive a little early, and that the flights usually leave a little early. This means we can estimate that the team will be getting on the busses at 12:45.
We reached out to the yell leaders and they are busy, so we reached out to a couple of former yell leaders. I am still awaiting a reply from either them or my friend who was supposed to see them this evening. All that changes is that there might be some former yell leaders there to lead yells. As long as a big group of people are there to show the team support, the event will be a success.
Special thanks to everyone who helped promote the idea. Thanks to Jeff84, who got the story of the 1967 season out there. Thanks to the TexAgs staff for sticking this thread to the top.
Nothing has been a success yet though. We need everyone out there Friday to show the team that we still have their backs. See you tomorrow afternoon as we send the team off to beat the ever living hell outta texas tech.
Go to the front on the east side. In front of the busses. We are in the parking lot.
Thanks.

So here's what went down. I showed up at 11:40 and talked to the people working the screening to see where it would be best for our group of people to be. We talked for a bit then figured it out and just waited around.
About noon, Bus 12 showed up blaring the Aggie band tunes. That was pretty cool. I have to thank them for coming out and showing their support.
We slowly started gaining a person every 10-15 minutes or so, all the way up until the players started getting screened. At this point we hit our peak of 14 fans (not counting the Bus 12 people). It was an exciting time to be at the Bright complex
We received many waves, head nods, a couple of "Gig 'ems". At one point we got a "thanks" and a pretty emphatic wave from Tim DeRuyter. We even received a "Thanks. I appreciate it. Thank you. I appreciate it." from Coach Sherman.
All in all I have to say that the Bright Complex was the place to be Friday afternoon, and that this send off was a smashing succ...oh who am I kidding? That f***ing sucked.
I never expected 700 people to show up. Hell, I didn't really expect even 100 people to show up. But only 14 was a bit of a shock. Everyone there was a pretty good sport about it though. I was able to laugh about it as I'm sure many other people are. There's probably a few people I know that are even laughing at me, but that's no big deal.
It definitely is sad when 700 people say they will go only 14 show up (2%er has a new meaning now). And one of the guys didn't even know about it until he got a text message today. The person who sent him the message about it never actually showed up.
Thanks for the support from the people that tried. Thanks for sticking the thread to the top TexAgs staff. Thanks Jeff for the idea. Thanks for trying everyone. When we win tomorrow, just know that it was all because of the 14 redass Aggies who showed up.
Oh... and you can stop RSVPing. It's over.
