Ditto the guy who said playing at Jerry World is "like playing in a shopping mall".
Its like you're at Disney world..standing in line you for tickets you hear " welcome to Cowboys Stadium blah blah.please keep your arms and hands inside the tram at all times" enjoy your visit to Cowboys Stadium"
I hate that stadium..been there for Cotton Bowl, high school games and Cowboys games..and yes its like playing a football game in a shopping mall

I'm not working right now and I just blew all my money to go to the OSU game. So you gainfully employed Ags who live in the DFW area better make the game!

Dallas forecast for Saturday:

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 85. East northeast wind around 5 mph.

I would drive up to the Cotton Bowl for this. Sit outside, enjoy the fresh air, and yell for the Ags.

There's no way in hell I pay these prices to sit in Jerryworld though. What does parking cost? I've heard people make claims that it's like $40.

If shoeless hillbillies from Arkansas can afford it, you can.

If you'd rather go to the ghetto and play in the Cotton Bowl, its historical value aside, I just don't know what to tell you.

whens the last time you went to a game at the Cotton bowl? If it was before 2008 kindly gtfo because you do not know what you are talking about.

I'll go ahead and say it, cowboys stadium is one of the worst places to watch a live sporting event period. Its for people who dont give a crap about the game on the field and care more about being noticed or distracted by shiny things.

Its the equivalent of dangling keys in front of a baby. If you really care about watching a game(of any kind) there are far better places to do it than the deathstar.

I want to go to a football game to watch football. I dont give a crap about

1. Artwork diplayed in the place
2. expensive finishes
3. gimicky entrances(player walk out through a bar)
4. sub field level suites
5. a ridiculous scoreboard that detracts from the play on the field.

Face it, cowboys stadium is basically a physical representation of the movie Idiocracy. Im just waiting for them to start serving brawndo

There are tons of students with out tickets. But we can not afford $125-$300. Any donor want to buy up all the empty seats and sell them to students at a discount. I guarantee we fill the stadium.

I'm in it to watch football too. I didn't like the Cotton Bowl because I can barely sit because my knees hit the seats in front of me. If you're really in it to watch football, then don't complain to me because the stadium is nicer and the tickets are more expensive. Like I said, apparently the hog fans don't care.

We've lost our reputation as a good traveling fan base.

And if the reason you don't want to go yell for the Ags is because you don't want to give Jerry Jones money, GTFO.

Good point, but Harris County alone is ~47,000.
This doesn't include Montgomery County with Conroe and The Woodlands: ~7,000.

But, no excuses. Agree with this thread completely!

I like the Dallas/Ft Worth Metroplex. It is a very nice area, and I like the climate. Prices for tickets are too dam high though, particularly in this economy. I think that explains the current lack of a sell out. Of course our second half nap against OSU did not help either and resulted in an 1100 kick. Sux.

Apparently the big city folks have so much going on up there that they don't appreciate having this game but the folks in Bryan/College Station would certainly appreciate the economic impact of having this game in Aggieland to help offset the loss of the tu game.

We can start playing SMU up there instead if Byrne wants a Metroplex game. Perhaps there are enough interested urbanites to fill the Ponies little stadium.

Again, whens the last time you went to the cotton bowl? They completely refurbished the stadium. replaced all the seats, added toilets, add consession stands, widened the concourse, and increased capacity to more than 90K.

It is the perfect place for a football game. The deathstar? Not so much.

Broke college kids can not complain about the ticket prices? Students are the ones who bring the Aggie Spirit to the games. They are the ones with the 12th man towels they are the ones who stand the whole game.

Also there could be some rangers playoff baseball that day, so some people might be going to that.

I think the atmosphere inside the death star can best be described as sterile. I absolutely hated it and will not go back. Like another poster stated, I'd rather be outside at an older venue with cramped seating and poor plumbing.

I'm in DFW and never wanted a game here in the first place.

Games should be played at home and away.

Also, I have always said that I will not give one damn cent to Jerry Jones and I quit watching the Cowboys because I hate his ass so much.

Granted I haven't been there since the last time we played there against Tennessee. Although as a native of Dallas I think doing anything to that stadium is like putting lipstick on a pig. I have a problem with the area surrounding the stadium. I don't like to worry about having to get mugged on the way to a game.

Bottom line: I don't care if it's in a mansion, shopping mall, or a federal prison yard. I'll go if A&M is playing.

I might go to this game, but for me it is $200 in gas, $400 in tickets, $100 in food, $50 in parking, and $50 in misc expenses.

Not to mention we didn't know if it was going to be an overnighter until just a few days ago.

$800 for one game is more than I pay for TWO season tickets in the zone.

Again, not saying it isn't a start, but give me Jerryworld any day. Just my personal preference. And again I knew about the renovations. Besides, it reeks of tsip and Sooner every year.

Renovate the surrounding neighborhood and then we're talking.

the only reason the neighborhood in arlington is any better, is because jerry jones had the entiring surrounding area demolished just to build his stadium. It was one of the worst parts of arlington and he decided to build a stadium on top of it. even now, its still pretty ghetto.

I drive 3 and a half hours for every home game at Kyle. I'm loving a game up here even if it costs the same in the end.

I'll be there yelling my still recovering vocal cords off. I'm still hoarse from last weekend. Even after treatment with copious amount of whiskey, but oh well.

Nai, that's exactly why Laura Miller, the Dallas mayor at the time, screwed up in letting Cowboys Stadium go to Arlington in the first place. It could have rejuvenated a part of Dallas and made way for many of the new, up-scale entertainment venues that are going in around the stadium in Arlington and boosted the city's economy.
zmurda
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I would literally have punched laura miller in the face if I had run into her in a back alley back then....not one for man on woman violence, but beyond justified in this case. New Boys stadium in downtown would have saved Big D
