I don't know how this 13 team schedule is gonna work.

Bama Has to have their precious game with Tennessee.

UGA has to have their precious game with Auburn

so the rest of the conference has always been very happy for LSU to play florida every year. Florida was happy with it until the last 5 or 6 years. They don't think its all that "fair" nowdays.

Unless we get a 14th, they'll probably try to get us to play the other 6 in the east ASAP. So if it's an 8 game schedule then 2 per year for 3 years, and a 9 game schedule 3 per year for 2 years. After that they might put us with UF, however. I wouldn't mind that at all, they are a great school and they're conveniently located near Disney World for those of us with kids.

UGA/Auburn is the oldest rivalry in the South. I believe we have played 117 times. That game will never be dropped.

That game is bullshine. If it's so precious, play it as an OOC game on years when you wouldn't normally be on each other's schedule.

Same for Bama/TN.

We know eyes open going in that the SEC is going to be tough but I would not be crazy about this. We've nutted up and said we'll play an SEC schedule and play TX every year, which I agree with. But having Florida every year as well.... wow. I'm not saying I want Kentucky or Vandy but I'd rather have like USC.

It's tv. It's all about the money. Texas and Florida are the two largest tv market states in the SEC.

It seems to me that we should not have a cross division rival until #14 joins.

What is unfair? Auburn has gone undefeated twice in the last 7 years. UGA has won two SEC championships recently, and finished 2nd in the nation in 2007.For the record:

The "word" is that LSU agreed to this unanimous vote for expansion with the stipulation LSU/Florida didn't play each other as permanents. Florida agreed with it.

It's time to rotate the East opponents similarly to what the Big XII used to do. this permanent opponent nonsense to appease UGA and Bama is an unfair crock.

If I were an LSU fan I would want to play Florida every year and vice versa. I would scream bloody murder if they tried to take that game away from me, just as I would if they tried to take the Bama game away from UT.

I want to see my team play the tougher opponent, I would give up Vandy and/or Kentucky to play LSU and the Aggies every year as that would be good football.

I would rather go 11-0 by playing all of the best as opposed to the worst.

But hey, that’s just me. Some people just want to get the most with putting out the least.

"Those of us with kids?" The wife and I have been there 5 times since December '05 (without kids).

Back to football...In our position of being recently invited to the party, it's not our role to disparage the 100 year rivalry between our friends at UGA and Auburn.

Tony Barnhardt said on his show that Slive already has the schedule worked out.

When they're going to release it is anybody's guess.

I'm thinking maybe today at the "ceremony" would be a good time.

Florida? Really??

Will they play us on Thanksgiving each year? If so, count my vote as yes.

I noticed that too. Sam, how about waiting until you guys are even eligible to vote on ANYTHING before you try impossing your "Let's do it like the Big 12 used to" ideas.

You don't get an invite into someone's house, then start telling them how they need to change things inorder to accomodate YOU better.

No offense Sam but I really don't think of LSU as a rival. I'd be cool if we played LSU at SEC Championship games.

it'd have to be agreed upon by all four teams, but if you want to keep yours, you just don't stick your keys in the bowl.

They don't. That is why you hear so much about the 14th team. The SEC has pretty much said they would be willing to live with the unfairness (13 teams) for a year or so instead of rushing into getting a 14th team.

A&M won't be dictating anything, but as a fact of life as a conference expands, changes are going to happen and not everything is going to be preserved. There can only be so many "that rivalry is ___ years old and will never end". Some of those ended on an annual basis the last time the SEC expanded.

I did graduate work at UF, and I really enjoyed it. The problem was, I brought my preschool kids to florida with me for about a 1 week per semester, and my wife would take them to DisneyWorld and Universal Studios for the week. Now all my kids equate University of Florida with DisneyWorld, and want to be Gators. But, I am not too concerned. I still have about 12 years to indoctrinate the oldest one.

Ok, I'm done. I'm NOT a fan of changing rivalries just to appease this new addition. **Don't get me wrong, I wanted A&M to join last year, and I'm thrilled this year too.***

We only need to change things if ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. Changing rivalries just to appease those who aren't even in the rivalry (e.g. LSU) is absurd.

Bama's not interested in a forced divorce with Tenn. Same goes for UGA and Aub*rn.

Before you SEC folks start lecturing Aggies about dictating schedules, you might check to ensure it was an Aggie poster dictating said schedule - Sam the Sham is an LSU poster. This isn't the first thread I've seen an SEC poster jumping on what they incorrectly think is an Aggie about schedule projections.
