It makes you wonder what J.B. Shugarts (offensive linemen from Klein) got when he played with tOSU...Wondered why he went all the way to Ohio to play CFB, and now, not so much...
I bet the IRS will become interested now.
This vindicates the car dealer IMO. Sounds like Pryor and others were very much able to make payments on those cars.

This is a real concern. The IRS will most certainly get involved. There is no hiding from them and there is no refusing to talk to them. AND the NCAA can use whatever they find to further rip Ohio State, especially if they find out multiple players were doing this.

They won't be getting any help from Pryor..that's for certain.
This is major and sounds much worse than the USC issues. Time to hammer tOSU. Hasn't their athletic program been under sanctions in other sports recently?
They have another player's father confirming that athletes have been getting these payments from at least 2006 at Ohio State, including at least one who is in currently in the NFL.

They've had multiple violations over the past several years with the football team and another with the basketball program under Jim O'Brien. This really has repeat offender status written all over it.
AD Gene Smith has to be fired too. ASU football went on probation when he was AD here I believe!
Cam did it the right way and got one lump sum.

when was the last time the IRS went after someone who had received illegal benefits from boosters and/or their college? I am not aware it has ever happened.
When an athlete gets paid under the table to sign memorobilia they do take notice, just ask Barry Bonds.
Apparently, it's tO$U.
Or Pete Rose he went to jail for not reporting all of his autograph income.
No wonder he's ditching the CFL ... he made more in college.
Pryor should have hired Cam's dad as his defense...

"Alleged" and "anonymous interview" sounds real familiar and yet the responses seem opposite to the current situation. Curious.
Was money changing hands proven in the Pryor autographs scandal?
I believe they exchanged memorabilia for tats, right? Pretty scary stuff….The big deal was that tOSU knew about it and lied. Also, there were more facts known, because the FBI was involved in a non-related drug case.

True...
If you’ll remember, there was also a very detailed article (Yahoo! Sports, I think) on the tOSU situation, complete with names, places, details, etc.
Not even similar situations. Plus jffs lawyers will have learned how to deal with the NCAA from these previous cases.
