means absolutely nothing if your opponent suits up in crimson or burnt orange.

von's forced fumble on landry that was overturned is the most blatant disregard of the rule demanding "indisputable video evidence" that i've ever seen.

all of the replays showed the ball coming loose as his hand is coming forward; and arguments could be made for both sides. but if there's not clear visual evidence of the contrary, then the play is supposed to stay as called- which obviously didn't happen.

proud of our boys for regrouping and forcing a punt a few plays later. but it sure sucks when you have to beat the sooners and the officials.

To say that is the most incontrovertible evidence ever is a little much. It isn't that hard to see it argued the other way. Hey, the defense pushed them back 15 yards in the next two plays to take them out of FG range. Now that was awesome.

i agree...that was HORRIBLE. von's helmet clearly hit the arm, forcing it forward and landry wasnt even close to having control of the ball. so i guess if you sack a QB from behind when his arm is in upright position and the ball moves forward, it should be an incomplete pass? the refs were pretty bad. im more upset at all of the missed holding calls. there were some really bad ones.

I agree. The replay from behind seems as if he had control. The replay from in front looks as if he lost control. Nothing definitive enough to overturn the call on the field.

it is very simple...

THE ONLY REASON HIS ARM WAS GOING FORWARD IS BECAUSE VON WAS MAKING IT GO FORWARD.

horrible call, end of story.

Do you guys remember earlier in the year when they found out the guys in the officiating booth at a BYU game were BYU grads?

Seriously need to follow up on these guys.

That Landry/Von play was total BS.

Absolutely. Von was getting held on seemingly every passing play for some stretches. Then there was also the hold on the long KO return.

I actually thought the block in the back call on Fuller was worse, but I'd agree that there was no indisputable evidence to reverse the fumble call. It worked out okay... this time.

Here is my question ...

"If you need indisputable evidence to over turn a call, how can it take more than 1 minute to look at the video?"

I mean, if you can't tell after 30 seconds, it seems like it by definition cannot be indisputable!

maybe they were trying to figure out how much time to put back on the clock? i dont know...

I think if we would have gotten that fumble we would have thrown a long touchdown pass and scored instead of receiving a punt. Then okie would have fumbled the kickoff and we would have scored again. Then the okies would be doing the "horns down" trying to convince us that they are really on our side. Also they would be trying to remind us of our real rival.

The clock kept running for a few seconds and the ball/chains were re-spotted...that's what took so long. Still thought it was a bad call.

That had nothing to do with "indisputable video evidence". The video wad perfectly clear on what happened on the play. All that had to do with is the clarity of the fumble/incomplete pass rule. The problem is with the rule not a misuse or whatever of replay.

if you go super slo-mo, with frame by frame stills, you can see whatever the hell you want.

if we are going to have replay, it should be run at live speed only - multiple times and angles if needed. that was the intent of replay, to change blatant misses... not to add more human error and subjectivity to the game.

If that was an "incomplete pass" as the refs would like to think .... shouldn't Landry Jones then get a penalty for intentional grounding.

The ball went straight to the ground.

I completely agree with tvick...on initial contact, the arm was still rocking back....the only forward motion was made after being tackled.

We got screwed on that call. No way was there enough to overturn the initial ruling that it was a forced fumble, imo.

No kidding. Landry Jones threw 59 freaking passes and there wasn't a single holding call?? Even Tard high under Leach got 1-2 every game

It's funny because in the tu/KSU game it looked like the Replay officials had on a purple sweater.

Clearly when Von hits him, the ball goes back, and to the left.

Back

and to the left

That was an obvious fumble. His arm was still going back when he was hit. Case closed.

The funny thing is how serene I was when the refs were watching the replay because I knew the ball was going to be given to OU. When the call was eventually reversed, I sat there peacefully, knowing that the order of evil in the universe had been kept in tact. It was with emotionless resignation that I accepted my fate as a fan of a team playing against the mighty Sooners...and then, a miracle occurred...the defense held ANYWAY!

In the grand scheme of things, we may look back on that blown call, as well as the idiotic roughing the passer penalty that we committed on third and goal, as two of the most important plays of the next 10 years. Why? Because the Aggie defense finally performed in the face of adversity. We held ANYWAY! If the Wrecking Crew is truly back, that is the kind of effort that will be required.

Nope, that belongs to the refs in the 2006 OK OR game in Eugene.

Officiating in general is getting out of control. I have really been disappointed in the calls. It is a amazing the inconsistency. On one of the kick offs to OU in the 4th quarter there was a blatant hold on an Ag defender and was not called. It allowed a large run back which of course we eventually stopped in the red zone.

What about the pass interference on Judie in the endzone that was not called? I would say the officiating was bad on both sides. but that was a fumble.

Everybody at Kyle was aware that this was a fumble. It even louder the next 2 plays

IMHO this terrible call helped us gain momentum on D

Captain... Judie did not commit PI b/c the ball was out of bounds. Even if he had not been touched, he would have caught it 2 yards out of bounds.

If it takes that long to review a call, it has to be considered inconclusive...stay with the refs....

Also, one point that I haven't seen discussed is that Von's right hand knocked the ball out while his helmet hit his elbow. That should have made it a fumble b/c Landry never had control when his arm did/did not go forward!!

That is my opinion of what I saw!!
