how many times do you see a receiver make a great catch with his back to the official only to instantly throw or drop the ball? I see it all the time and always think we are not going to get credit for a reception.
I'm sure Cyrus knows not to do this in future games.

I was wondering at the time why the play wasn't reviewed. If it was blown dead, A&M would've been given the ball at the one yard line. If there was no whistle, the team that picked it up would have been awarded the ball.

I was concerned about this after watching some of the games the week before. This is a really bad habit that looks to be popular. SOMEbody is going to get caught doing this before too long.

I get the emotion, but come on - just hand the ball to the nearest official, guys. That should be a team rule.

Several years ago Mike Goodson did the same thing.
Also, I remember once as a little kid, a receiver for the Cardinals (Roy Green?) did it against Dallas on MNF. He basically spiked the ball from the 2 yard line. It was before replay, so the score stood. Otherwise, it was an obvious touchback.

Good thing it wasn't on TV for review.
I'm suprised no one else saw this...I turned immediately to my buddy and said "they better kick this extra point quick" and "I hope they don't ask for a review"
FYI - all plays are reviewed whether the game is televised or not.

I don't think so Jeff. I'm pretty sure that they don't have replays avaialable if it's not on TV. If they're filming it, they'd put it on TV, wouldn't they?
Simple solution. Hand the ball to the guy with his hands up signaling the TD!!!

If the officials do their job, they don't give a touchdown signal because it is still a live ball and EZ gets credit for the TD.
You can see the ball in the last frame at the bottom of the T in Texas A&M.

EZ doesnt pick the ball up...this play should have been reviewed. Upon review it would have been called a touchback. Then the aggies would have lost.

How is it called a touchback if the play was ruled dead? The ball didn't go out of the endzone.
AP04, the officials would've given the Ags the ball at the one. No touchback could've been called because 1) the ball stayed in the endzone 2) an FIU player didn't pick it up and 3) the play was ruled dead when the official ruled touchdown.

That's just silly Brad. Why would you have a camera's on a game that is not on TV? It makes no sense? And if you had cameras, why wouldn't you just put the game on TV?
