The move to the SEC didn't exactly work out for Arkansas, a program that is at least slightly better than us in football. They have competed well at times (and also in other sports), but overall not really. I don't like A&M's chances to compete consistently in the SEC in football.

and the point? Night games in the SEC begin at 6 or 7 CST.

Irrespective of the actual start time(s), I submit that there is a discinct viewership advantage by playing one time zone ahead vs. two time zones behind.

From a sports standpoint, I'm jazzed about the SEC possibility, but from an academics standpoint the PAC10 is on a completely different level. It makes me sick to say it, but I think for the health of our university we should look to the west.

We have never competed consistently in the Big XII in football. How is getting blown out by bama and florida worse than OU and tu?

One would think; if A&M(AD and Pres) can decide where they want to go it would be the SEC. However, it appears those that could affect our move are clueless. When I heard Rick Perry was invloved; all I could think of was adious mofos. He's a good Ag but should not be involved in decisions regarding A&M athletics.

the point being that you should just stick to the facts of why the SEC is a better opportunity for us. no need to embellish.

we would play at most 2 games per season in the pacific time zone.

As much as I would like to disagree...this is true

AgNFL- where are you in Florida? Stuck in Orlando myself.

BMX:...and when recruiting, I would use that to my advantage.

The fact remains that a couple of road games will be played in the Pacific time zone each year and will not be seen (due to start times and/or regional coverage) by east coast sportswriters.

The Pac10 already complains about their kids getting the shaft. I don't think selling that to a recruit constitutes embellishment.

i disagree.

east coast sports writers would see any game A&M played on the west coast if they are capable of staying awake until 11:00. I don't perceive it to be a negative for recruiting.

regardless, the SEC would provide a huge recruiting boost.

SEC w/o tu might be a good idea for recruiting, but the competition in football would be scary. Now, in basketball, the Aggies would be pretty salty. ;-)

Obvious troll is obvious.

Seriously? Somebody is pranking the board with these socks, and laughing at all of you.

I'd take being competitive in the PAC 16 and west coast hotties over a weekly ass-whipping (for at least 3 yrs)any day.

This team is just starting to get competetive in the Big 12 do you really think they're ready for the SEC? Just take a look at the last few times A&M has played an SEC opponent. A move to the SEC could potentially result in A&M not winning a conference title (in football) for another decade.

Quite honestly I'm tired of waiting

Sounds like we should bolt for CUSA. If that doesn't work out, we could always drop to 5A.

we aren't competitive in a division with texas, ou, osu, tech and baylor

but we will become competitive in a division with texas, ou, osu, tech, colorado, arizona and arizona state.

makes sense to me!
