Things you do in public are what people tend to remember you for. Moral of the story is that he used his toughness and grit to tackle problems, be it football, employment, or a hot slice of somethin'.

The girls whining on this thread about their interaction w JA. So far we have learned that he liked to drink, chase poosay, and get rowdy. Eh, how good of a ball team do you think we would have if we wanted only players who didn't do those things?

And quit tattle telling. Everyone hates a snitch beech.

Plain and simple, the guy was a gamer. He showed up every game and played exceedingly well on a defense that was maligned.

It's really hard not to respect the heart that this guy gives to the game in playing and now coaching.

He was one of the few bright spots on the early Franchione teams, and he deserves our respect.

Point being, and I've said this for years, that the hardest route to defend is a come-back when the CB's back is turned.

Almost every CB will have his back turned at some point when you are running a vertical route in man coverage.

When the receiver stops and comes back, he will almost ALWAYS have a huge advantage on the defender.

It's time we start using this a bit more.

Not sure who was the best A&M DB ever - Jaxson Appel or Wes Bautovich.

Trick question. Actually, it was Scott Stickane. He wasn't playing his natural position at LB.

The real question is: Why would he even need to go to Northgate to troll for ho's?

These should have been supplied to him.

This is a little ridiculous. I know Jaxson and he has never been anything but polite and, one might even venture to say, charming.

In had a friend who knew Jaxson pretty damn well, and according to him Jaxson liked to use the "Hey, do you know who I am?" line to pick up chicks.

I don't care if you just discovered a cure for cancer and then donated a kidney, using that line makes you a huge dewshbag. It just proves you care more about yourself than anyone else ever will.

Man, I saw Jaxson Appel at the Corner Bar last fall, and drunkenly yelled out his name as he was passing by. I was expecting him to ignore me, being the badass that he is. Instead, he shook my hand, and we talked for a while.

IMO, that was very cool of him to do that, when he clearly didnt need to. I could care less about methods he uses to pick up women. You know how the saying goes... don't hate the player...

Good Luck Jaxson!

After he hit Adrian Peterson on that 3rd down play where either Jaxson or AP broke his shoulder blade Jaxson was never the same. He would still hit people but mostly became King of the Ankle Tacklers by his junior season.

I wish him the best at Clear Lake.

Everyone on this thread has gone full retard. Never go full retard...... Y'all should stop talking about a fellow Ag like this. Who cares how he acted. It's not yalls place to judge him or anyone. Don't hate the player .... Hate the game...

Everyone who has posted Jaxson anecdotes has glossed over perhaps the most relevant detail connected to their encounters:

Hopefully for their team, he won't pass on anything he learned from the old regime.

I still see him and the other safeties running towards the LOS to cover their WR who was running downfield.

It was very surprising that we weren't able to stop, reverse direction, and cover them downfield. It was surprising the next time it happened. And then the time after that. In fact, that technique surprisingly didn't work for the entire season.
