Texas Burger was good. Are there any even open still?

Of any fast food burger in Texas, Whataburger is tops....

There are 3 Texas Burgers between Dallas and Houston.

my preference is circumstantial. for example, have I been drinking? Am I in a huge hurry and so hungry that all I can think about is the nastiest, cheesiest, greasiest food available.

I like Letter's picks...5 guys would get higher marks by me if their fries were good. I just dont like em. Even the cajun ones. And if 5 Guys had a drivethrough... DANGER.

My favorite burger right now is that damned Patty Melt from Whataburger with grilled onions and grilled jalepenos. Its like crack.

I remember Texas Burger from my days in Little Dribblers.

geez...I don't know what Texas Burgers you guys have been going to, but they are WAY better than Whataburger or for God's sake Wendy's...

It's almost not fair to call their burgers a fastfood burger...much closer to a "real" burger IMO.

Becks prime is pretty damn good too, in the Houston area.

Whataburger is hands down my favorite. Christian's Tailgate is pretty damn good too.

I figured this was about fast food burgers, or else Becks and Christian's would definitely be considered. The Baconator is trash. one place that I dont care for that gets some hype is Smashburger. Its not bad, but I dont get the hype.

And dubya tee eff is Texas Burger? Never heard of it.. A Dallas yankee thing? Dallas sucks. Ya'll have more in common with Oklahoma than you do with actual Texans.

There's a Texas Burger in Cameron. It's decent, but not Whataburger.

The thing about picking the best cheeseburger is context. I think the best burger I remember having (and that's the key phrase) is a hungerbuster from an old school DQ after a camping trip that turned nasty, cold and wet. I was starving by the time I got there, and that burger was pure heaven. Was it the best burger I've ever eaten? No, but none seem to stick with me like that one. So take stuff like this with a grain of salt.

How can Whataburger be more Texan than Texas Burger? That makes no sense.

1. Frito Chili Cheese Burger at Burger Street.
2. AI Thick N Hearty Burger at Whataburger (R.I.P.).

Gourmet Burgers in Houston were also good, so was Charlie's. (Not sure if they are still there or not.) Groff's in Dallas was good - I think it closed, too.

my issue with the texas burger is that they use shredded lettuce. i am not a fan of the baconater because my heart hurts after all that bacon and cheese. whataburger wins, even if it is by default. the fancy ketchup is also a difference maker.

I moved to South Florida 6 yrs ago and suffered tremendously when the 2 of 3 WB in Orlando closed sometime in the last two years. There were no WB south of Orlando. I now have to drive up to Jacksonville, FL (over 5 hrs) to get one... I still do it.

Whataburger. Period. For the fast-food burger, it can't be beat. It's one of the reasons that I have not ever wanted to leave the state of Texas - I recall those '80s commercials for Whataburger featuring Nolan Ryan talking up the Whataburger, and you couldn't get them in places like Philly, NY, Boston ...

There are places around Katy where I live and Sugarland where I work where there are really good, non-fast-food burgers (9ers Grill, Red's Grill in Katy, Lone Star Grill, Cliff's in Sugarland).

I'm not a huge fan of the 5-Guys burger.
