I noticed the reactions of Hokies to this tradition on techsideline.com and it is hillarious. My question is what do you do when you have a blind date who is less than attractive?

Most people, 99% don't kiss after a score. Mainly just corps dweebs that don't have much game otherwise and this is their shot. (No offense to the corps in general, I know many fine young men who are in it)

Eddie...must still be a student....come sit over on the alum side...I would venture to say 90% of the couples there, even the big money alums, still kiss their dates(wives), eddie must not be having much luck with the ladies.

The tradition defintiely continues...

eddie is wrong. I have been a student for 4 years and I kiss my date after every score, even when we are watching on tv. Everybody around me who has a date does the same. There are many guys who can't get dates and are sour because of this.

Eddie's girl must not be puttin-out,I would get some breath freshener or a girl that sees the Aggie Tradition For what it is,We ALWAYS kiss after we score,both at home and at KYLE!

Guys, after you get done slobbering in public, take a look around and 9 out of 10 people are not mugging down, and that's being conservative. Yes I'm talking about the student side. You married folks can do whatever you like. Didn't mean to offend anybody, I don't care if you mug down or not, just letting this Hokie know what it's really like.

No eddie you are not. You are giving an opinion of someone who dislikes this tradition and is not giving an accurate account. I am a student and I sit on the student side. I kiss my date after every score. You do not have to kiss your date if you do not want to. But most who can get dates do kiss them.

I have been here four years going on five and if I have a date at the game I'd kiss her....If I don't have a date I don't kiss anyone. And unless I had a girlfriend during Football season I may have had a date 25% of the time. Not everyone has a date to every game.

If we don't see any offensive improvement, we might be back to the first down thing. That said, my wife and I have always followed that tradition, even we were dating at A&M, and now we do when we watch the team on TV. My friends are the same way, and NONE of us were CT.

I kiss my wife after every TD and most around me kiss their dates. We aren't sucking face and I am not sticking my tongue down her throart or anything, but I give her a nice peck on the lips.

It's people with dates, eddie, not just kissing the person next to you. I would say that at least 90% of the people with dates get a litte kiss after a score.

My wife and I always peck after a score...even on away games that we are watching on TV or listening to on the radio.

And to make it clear, I am not in the corps. Also the tradition goes on more in the 1st and 2nd decks than in the 3rd. Or at least that is what I have seen. I assume the fish do not have as many dates as the upperclassman and that is why the fish are left out in the cold more often.

Eddie, give me a break. Your snide comment re: 'slobbering over one-another' tells everyone your feelings about the scoring tradition. When I was in school, you kissed your date/girlfriend and EVERYONE who brought a date/girlfriend, kissed. My wife and I still do.

And to make another thing clear: Kyle Field is not the place for a blind date for that very reason.

In school, even if we went with a group, we would kiss the girls in the group. Usually on the cheek. When dating my wife, we always kissed. There is nothing that irritates my wife more than seeing someone mugging after a score. I would say that 70% of the kisses do not involve tongue.

Nowadays, I get kisses from my daughters and my wife. Life is good.

just wondering... why are y'all bringing your dates to games? i have been dating my girlfriend for over 2 years and we have gone to 3 games together. and i haven't missed a UT home game since 1992. i have told her that she just doesn't want to be around me at the game. i am not a jerk or anything, i just get very focused. my friends are as well. fortunately my friends girlfiends' are all friends so they can do their thing while we do our thing.

am i alone???

i think that it's cool that there are girls that get into the game. my mom always calls me the night before and after the game. my girlfriend likes going to the games but more for the pageantry that is involved in a college game than the actual game. but when i go to the games, it is usually a guy-thing for us.

My wife digs football Texas97. She understands the game, and she's hell at a tailgate. That is unless you'd rather eat my cooking...

As far as kissing at Kyle, you bet. It was a lot of fun during GHT years, not nearly as fun nowadays.

like i said, i think it's cool. i guess when i think of football i think of guys. when i go over to friends places to watch games, it is almost entirely guys and this is friends with girlfriends and wives. i don't talk about our OL problems with my girlfriend b/c she really doesn't care. i don't talk about a stud recruit that we have signed with my mom or sister.

I normally kiss both my date and my wife after we score. Competition is a good thing.

It's a fun tradition for us ladies as well . And yes, we are former students, it's still a fun tradition, who's going to turn down a chance to mug?

I have always kissed my date or wife since I started going to games in 1978. We kiss on all scores even extra points whether we are watching in person or on TV. In my family, the bigger the score the bigger the kiss.

Ive been to every Aggie home game and half of the road games and their is some kissing going on. Its okay Eddie to admit that you are gay. You must not bet kissing anyone if you are busy looking around.
