I feel sorry for me right now.

I feel sorry for 78000 people that sat through terrible defense and a non-existent passing game because of a non-existant offensive line.

I feel sad that my football season was one day long this year.

I feel sad that a good team that has only been in division 1 for a while is already better than us.

I feel sad that we have to look for SMALL improvements in offensive line, passing, overall defense, and all special teams to have anything to look forward to at all this year.

I feel sad that Kyle field--with great fans, 12th Man, great environment--will be a showcase for every other Big 12 team that comes in here to destroy us.

I feel sad that we are almost another Baylor in ability to threaten opponents.

I feel sad thinking about d-bag tekkies and sooners that will be buying tickets in record #s to see near-inevitable humiliations at home. Prepeare for trailer parks everywhere to have scoreboard on A&M.

I feel sad that a dink team like Ark State can put 420 yards on us without ANY other real game experience this year.

I feel sad that we can't stop ANY run up the gut with our defensive line.

I feel sad the 4th and 14 is just like a 1st and 10 and totally manageable by opposing teams @ Kyle field.

I feel sad that for 10 years we have been no real threat to anyone.

I feel sad that we are desperately trying top break into college football's top 90.

I feel sad watching our gutty senior quarteback run for his freakin life most of the game.

I feel sad that three dynamite running backs will get zero national attention this year because we suck so bad.

I feel sad that that every game I attend or watch on TV will be a three to four hour period of time where every Aggie fan is transported to hell. Satan will then release us for one week so we can do it all over again a week later. Aggie fans are like prisoners on parole from hell that have to go back to the joint every saturday.

I am sad that by-weeks will be what most Aggie fans look forward to this year.

The above is a senseless vent.

Please disregard.

Our team is great.

I support the coaching staff that got embarrassed last night.

I support the players.

I love everyone.

Life is beautiful.

Yadda Yadda yadda.

Gig 'em.

No where to go but up.

I agree with that first part. I feel sad for all of that.

UH has been turning out GREAT QB's these last few years, while we've been turning out dog****.

McGee was 13/19 going into the second half, he made one bad decision, and if you think that the O-Line was doing anything second half or that the receivers were "wide open" you're crazy. Our WR's are so weak we have our two backup QBs playing the position, that's saying alot. At one point we had the 12th Man lining up in linebacker, I mean come on. Obviously our personal is just much weaker than we anticipated. The defense will be ok, our Offense won't be able to get it done with the exception of Mike Goodson, just because of the type of player he is. But it wasn't McGee's fault we missed two field goals, that we didn't get into the endzone on 3rd and 2, or the Goodson fumble or JJ's dropped pass at the end of the game that caused an INT. McGee made one bad decision trying to force something to happen in the 1st half when we were well ahead, but McGee didn't blame anyone, and handled the loss like a starting QB should. If we can do something about this O-Line (I doubt it, our starting center was a walk-on and we have a freshman starting) McGee will be fine. But a good team in this offense begins in the trenches.

I was there...most of the time he had lenty of time to throw. He appears to be so afraid of making a mistake or throwing an interception, that he just holds the ball forever. The line needs to give a QB 2-3 seconds. Stephen had WAY more than that on a number of occasions, along with WIDE OPEN receivers.

This is the McGee that I've seen for 90% of his starts at A&M.

For those of you that don't think one player can make that much of a difference, you don't know anything about football. A good QB can make a huge impact on an offense and a bad QB can do the same in the opposite direction.

I keep hearing about how he does everything perfect in practice. I guess we can have only a few hundred people show up for the next home game and make them wear their practice uniforms and play in the day time and we'll see this QB that we keep reading about.

I get sick of people brining of JJ during the Miami loss, last year. He was looking like a pro against Miami's BACK-UPS. Just because he is athletic, does not make him a stud QB. What I saw during spring football practice was an athlete who was extremely inaccurate when passing.

Actually, I played the position for 10 years. And yes, he did have open receivers. And there were some breakdowns in the pass blocking in the 2nd half. But guess what? That happens alot when the QB holds the ball too long.

Go back to drumming.

Lets ask this. How many times has he been outplayed by the opponents QB? How many have been in the "exhibition" games?

as soon as the ball was snapped he had a d-lineman damn near touching him. if that's holding the ball to much i guess he better just not touch it.

McGee bailed the few times he had time, I watch the qb's in warmups, JJ couldn't hit his receivers with no defense....lol, its tannehill time.

halibut....McGee has had four years to get this right...he has not gotten the job done. New system or not he has not been a great passer not even a good passer. The protection was there in the first half and he was still afraid to pull the trigger. He needs to be benched our put out at WR.

By the way he threw like this with a solid Offensive line the last two years the time for making excuses for him is over.

obviously a lot of people here don't understand the qb position....you aren't supposed to have 10 seconds to throw before the d-line gets to you

you should get about 3 seconds with no blitz and in that time you should be able to take a look at 2-3 options to throw to

McGee will stare one person down and then if he's covered he gets flustered and starts running around like a chicken with its head cut off...he also will not give his wr's a chance to make a play...if he throws it up to jeff fuller in man-to-man coverage on a deep post or something with no safety help (and there was no safety help a lot last night b/c they loaded the box to stop Goodson) then there's a very good chance Fuller makes a play and comes down with the ball

McGee may be a great person and have loads of toughness but he just can't cut it as a throwing QB

I have been, and still deep down inside may be, an ardent SM supporter and have always loved and respected his toughness, Aggie enthusiasm and leadership. But for the first time last night, I started doubting that he would be a difference maker this year on the play he first didn't see Tannehill in the open 40-45 yards down field and then, couldn't get the ball even close to him even though he had rolled to his right and was running up field when he released the ball!! He apparently does not have the arm of a Division 1 QB (or even that of an good 4A or 5A QB. That said, SM throws 5-12 yard crossing routes/slants as good as anyone and much better than McNeil. Unfortunately I don't think that ability will ever be enough for our offense. Additionally, like other posters have stated, I am afraid that it will not matter at all who does start at QB for our team considering: (a) our total lack of a defense; (b) our young, inexperienced, and, toward the end of the game, insufficiently conditioned offensive line; and (c) our seeming lack of team chemistry and overall effort.

Agreed strike.

The one good thing about having tickets in the upper deck of the zone is that you really get to see plays develop. Arkansas St. ran a lot of man last night and the right routes were being called. I will be the first to admit that the recievers don't look great, but Tannehill was open more than he was covered. I belive that most of the passing plays were designed to be timing routes that don't require a lot of seperation. McGee is slow pulling the trigger and the won't work when you are running timming routes.

I thought his arm strength look pretty good, it was just his willingness to let go of the football that was the problem.

The line did not do great, but he had time on most passing plays to execute the play that was called.

we should have not stopped running the ball 75% of the time with the 3-headed monster of mcGee, goodson, and lane. we have three good runners, zero good passers, and zero good receivers, and we're trying to run some west coast bullcrap while abandoning an offense that beat the sips twice and the third time scored more than anyone but usc on them.

We should hypnotize McGee into thinking we play tu every week.

Sounds like sorry coaching to me. In contrast Kansas can't have more talent than we have, they are just better coached. Mike Sherman sucks azz.

Time for JJ. Don't gimme that crap about the oline being so terrible. JJ could move around enough to actually make a play when the pocket collapses, not just run backwards!

they played like dog****. I'm just disappointed that none of the other qb's saw a snap under center. I love McGee, but he caught in between fran's and shermans offense and is confused

I am just sick of being ridiculed by other division one schools and the national media. I knew we weren't going to be outstanding by any means, but I wanted to at least feel decent about this year, or feel reassured for next year. And yes, I know "don't get down after one game" but it's so hard when there is so much mockery coming from friends and family. I just hope maybe there will be some light at the end of the tunnel and our season won't be AS bad as everyone says it's going to be.

Hmmm....
sounds like y'all don't think sherman can even evaluate the talent on his own team. Maybe he should just ask texags who should start.
