Sarge was cartoon character created by Bill McClanahan of the DMN back when. Let him RIP.

Growing up I really associated ol sarge with A&M just as much as reveille.

whats the worst that could happen, seriously? I think an Ol Sarge would kickass, and why the hell would he roam the alumni side? That's stupid, those crotchety old losers can barely manage more in a day than taking their teeth out at night and crying about the way things was. I think the student section side would be the right place for him, especially to heckle the opposing team.

But god forbid we do anything that makes us appear like another school. O noes!

I used to have an awesome ol' sarge t-shirt. I miss my youth.

We already have FLAG carriers carrying the Stars and Stipes.

Lets have an old car say like 1933 Ford that picked up Rev back in the old days when Rev. was a mutt. Have frat boys drive around with OL' Sarge and Rev. in the rumble seat.

No we don't have any cadets that look the part of a seven foot tall mascot suit. We're not just going to have some random core guy out there in my vision of 'Ol Sarge. And the mascot role should be limited to a member of the gay/lesbian/transgendered student group at TAMU. They need more representation.

I think Ol Sarge would look good on a bike... then he could run over the other mascots including the red zorro from tech.

Okay, think this guy, but in Maroon. And we call him Gigatron. We have the yell leaders come up with some TOTALLY AWESOME yell for him and make everybody memorize it. Then we sell hats, shirts, placemats and maroon condoms with his image plastered on it. $$$ Billions!

Jackie did get an Ol' Sarge sometime in about 85 or 86. Plan was for a yell leader to wear it. Giant uproar. It never made it to a game. Pretty sure it was torn apart by a pack of collies in the steam tunnels during the secret society meeting and was never seen again.

I am an advocate for Ol' Sarge. Great logo. Great on T-Shirts, decals, etc. Would look awesome painted on the 50 yard line. But please, no animated mascots....

a blow up sarge would really be entertaining in the plaza north of the zone. Forget a mascot, just have some fun stuff for the kiddies there.

Personally, I find Ol' Sarge to be a bit of an embarassing image.

Kind of like the sterotypical large-bellied redneck southern sheriff.
