I just wondered what happened to him since he engineered our finest hour of the last decade. Anyone know?

I'm pretty sure he is in Austin. Someone said they saw him recently.

I met him at the Tim Cassidy dinner at Riverplace earlier this year. Yes, he is in Austin. I don't remember what he does though.

I seem to rembember that he had a job interview out of state the Monday following the Big 12 Championship, and he had to catch a flight to it from St. Louis. I can't find a link, but I think it was discussed in the commentary during the Sugar Bowl about the way he celebrated winning the Big 12 Championship was by jumping on a plane to get to a job interview. I remembered thinking that he was ready to move on from football.

You know, if you really wanted to find him, it wouldn't be that hard.

He's in Austin working in marketing for a technology company.

Oh, yeah. I would definitely emphaize DR PEPPER in the interview room. Makes a WORLD of difference when it comes to the salary talk. It's better than saying that your dorm room smells of rich mohogany...

Branndon was a good QB...remember the great comebacks against Okie State in 1997 and of course the Big 12 Championship game.

He's also a nice guy that was a great team player when Randy McCown took over during the middle of the 1998 season.

Agreed. Sad how sometimes he was Joe Montana and other times he was Branndon Stewart

I flipped to ESPN Classic here a while back and they were showing the 1994 UTenn-Alabama game. They were rotating Stewart along with this other guy named Peyton Manning. Stewart looked pretty good, and they were hyping him up big time. He showed flashes of greatness. If I recall, he might have won the game for them.

He obviously got beat out by Manning and transferred out here. I think a big reason why he wasn't so successful is...in all honesty...we were never really able to develop a quarterback very well under Slocum. Now, I say that in terms of an NFL caliber drop back QB. Bucky was special, but he was similar to where McGee was under Fran...a great runner but not developed as a passer. Pullig was solid in terms of numbers, but he wasn't a great QB by any means. After Stewart, McCown just didn't have the talent...and we don't even need to discuss Mark Farris (flat out awful).

I'm looking forward to having a staff that makes QB development a major priority...especially with a QB coach that's worked with Brett Favre and actually knows what he's doing.

Farris was pretty damn good his first year. Check the statistics.

McKown was all heart and no talent. Dude didnt know how to slide. He was the perfect compliment to Stewart.

Farris wasnt so bad. Considering he had NO receivers.

i heard stewart was back in stephenville and he's dating jewel...

didn't know he had moved that much recently. my cousin's husband worked with him at motive...

I recall a one year juco guy that Farris had as a target in 2000.

And that was his first year.

Farris was very good, but got undone by the worst OC hire (and that is saying something) in 20 years in Dino Babers

I think Farris AND RC were victims to the hiring of RC Slocum.

But he will always be remembered for one play in that 2000 season...not to mention another one in Boulder the very next year.

What play? I don't remember it.

So no, he won't always be rememebered for that.
