A&M's isn't the prettiest, but, it's got some very nice areas, and certainly isn't one of the ugliest in the nation.
The new buildings, I believe, are implementing the same color brick (such as the chemical engineering building), and oughta fit in quite nicely. The Evans complex isn't the same design as the other buildings, but, still seems to fit in allright.
As for the brick buildings most typical on campus, in my opinion, they aren't terrible looking, as long as they take care of them. If cleverly designed, which a few here and there are, they can look quite nice.
