I stand in awe of that generation pretty much daily. Never forget their sacrifice and the good they did in the world. May we always remember the fallen especially on this day.

I posted this on Politics, but I assume some folks might find this interesting here as well.

This gentleman is Frank Emond, my cousin's father in law. He's an amazing man. In addition to being a Pearl Harbor survivor, he is an accomplished musician and a really wonderful person. He is also holds Guinness World record for "Oldest Musical Conductor" from when he conducted the Pensacola Civic Band's Memorial Day Concert in May 2019 when he was 101 years old.

He broke his own record on November 6 in Washington, D.C. when he conducted the U.S. Air Force Band's Airmen of Note in playing Glenn Miller's In the Mood.

And just for giggles, here's Mr. Emond breaking his own record at 103 years of age:

“Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy. It's inherent virtue is the equal sharing of miseries." - Winston Churchill

Halsey also said he would be willing to split the Pacific with the Japanese. We would take the top half and the Japanese could have the bottom.

We'd all be speaking German or having raw fish heads and rice for meals had that war been fought now.
