I've got about an hour or so to go, only listen to it while I'm driving to and from work. I think it's pretty good. I've liked all of his Podcasts. Hate to have to wait a year for the next one

He was discussing the payoff vs the risk. I have always viewed from the "Hell yeah let's bomb those effers!" angle. Had never considered exactly the stakes that were there if the ships were discovered and action was taken against them. Really drove home the magnitude of the raid from that perspective for me.

Yes that bothered me. I also prefer the Filipino pronunciation of Bataan and Corregidor.

It made me laugh when he was talking about jungle fighters and countries ranked as jungle fighters. He quoted a veteran saying that the Australians quickly became the best jungle fighters and the Japanese were a close second. Asked about the Americans he said it wasn't a fair comparison because they (Americans) had a tendency to level the jungle and fight in what was left.

Found that interesting as well.
The part about new guinea natives separating dead Japanese bodies from skulls with a forked tree and twisting the body until the head pops off was unexpected.
That was surprising. But it puts in focus how hated they were.
