2028 Allen attacker Maya Ogbogu commits to Texas A&M volleyball

An elite arm is coming to Aggieland.

On Thursday, 2028 Allen attacker Maya Ogbogu announced her commitment to Texas A&M.

Considered the No. 1 prospect in the country by Prep Dig, this is quite the splash on the recruiting front from the reigning national champions.

Entering her junior season at Allen High School, Ogbogu is one of the most sought-after players in the class because of her explosivity and ability to be a six-rotation weapon. She has recorded 950 kills, 116 blocks and 427 digs in her two years at Allen.

With a 10-foot-7.5 approach touch, the North Texas talent brings an explosive style of play that perfectly aligns with Texas A&M.

Even at the age of 16, the 6-foot attacker is a human highlight reel behind her lethal power and clean, quick swing. She has all the makings to be the next star outside in Aggieland.

The high-flying pin has proven as much with her club, Texas Advantage Volleyball, along with the USA U17 National Team, where she was named MVP and Best Spiker at the 2025 NORCECA U17 Continental Championship.

Not only is she an AVCA High School first-team All-American and the 2025 PrepVolleyball Player of the Year, but she will also become a second-generation Aggie as her father played basketball at A&M in 1997-98. He graduated in 2001.

As soon as colleges were allowed to extend verbal offers Monday, Ogbogu acted quickly, becoming the second player in the class to announce her commitment.
