How long do you want to ignore this user?
I have a ganglion cyst in my left wrist and was wondering if anyone has dealt with this before. It's bothersome (slight pain) when I do certain exercises such as benching and other pushing movements. Should I minimize or stop those all together? I've read that a lot of time they go away by themselves (without treatment), but I am wondering if my weight lifting will irritate it and possibly make it worse. Experiences? Thoughts?

had it in the exact some place, and yeah it does hurt on some exercise. Best bet go to a doctor, they will probably recommend an anti-inflamatory (i took mobic and it was great) or surgery. Mobic made it go away and it came back probably 3 months later. Went back and took it again and it went away and hasn't came back since. Didn't want to do surgery but you may have to if it becomes bad

I had one on the back of my hand once. Had it for about 4 or 5 months before it started to go away, but mine never was painful...hell is was kinda fun because you could really gross people out with it...

I get them all the time. 99% of the time for me they go away by themselves. A little massage here and there usually helps.

My cousin had one once and he decided to basically pop it. He had one of his friends slam a dictionary right on the cyst. He said it hurt like hell, but within 15 minutes it was gone and felt fine.

I work with physicians and nearly all of them suggested banging mine with a book (that's why they're called 'Bible cysts'). Mine was HUGE, so I went to a hand surgeon who removed it - it was wrapped around my radial artery so banging it with a book probably wouldn't have worked. That wrist was out of commission for several months though after the surgery.

I'd get a consult - they may be able to drain it under ultrasound. If it's big enough to be intrusive, you should get it checked out.

My wife has been dealing with the same thing for years. She has to get it drained periodically. Doc wants to do the surgery to remove it, but she's a frady cat.
