My father just got diagnosed. Does anyone have any experience?

They want to start off treating him with the nebulizer using saline solution and then using a flutter valve.

Is this normal treatment?

Yes it's a typical start for treatment. Bronchiectasis can range from something seen on a CT scan that has little to no significance to a very severe problem. If he is not having frequent respiratory infections then it's probably not too big of a deal. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

He has had frequent coughing for at least 2 years. He's had infections 2x in the past 2 years.
His CT showed defects throughout all levels of the lungs.
