My daughter got me to start taking it. She's 26 and literally knows everying. If you don't believe her, just ask her....
According to her it will keep you younger looking so I'm going with that.

To be perfectly honest, I don't know if I notice anything or not. I also drink a lot of water, workout and eat relatively well, so who knows.

Edit: I take Ancient Nutrition, Multi Collagen. I did a bit of SWAG research and it is true that MOST Collagen suppliments only contain 2 types of Collagen, this stuff is supposed to have 4 types.. It's a good thing I have the daughter to keep up with all of this.

I started using it in hope of helping with joint pain and honestly don't notice much of a difference a month in with that aspect. I have noticed my nails are growing faster and I have had a few people say my hair is looking thicker. I would rather the joint pain be what is working best but at least something is happening.

I'll usually mix in Ancient Nutrition Collagen Protein with my magnesium powder before bed. Mainly taking it for the low calorie protein, and not sure I necessarily notice anything otherwise.

I've heard eating collagen for joint pain is complete BS. It seems to work for me. I think it is worth a try if you have minor joint discomfort. I put a scoop of Vital Proteins Collogen Peptides in my coffee most mornings. It seems to put less off flavor in my coffee than the Ancient Nutrition products.

38 yo male, exercise 6 days per week including heavy squats, long steady state runs, sprints, and plyometrics. I started having knee pain around 35. Never debilitating, but very bothersome. For example, coming down stairs first thing in the morning there would be days where I felt I needed to take one stair with each foot. I tried joint supplements like glucosamine and turmeric with no results. I also started to implement Knees-Over-Toes exercises. This improved my knees issues but never eliminated the occasional issues. I was recommended Ancient Nutrition and experienced almost instant results. I only use about 5-6 tablespoon per week and it silenced my knee issues.

i been using for about 4-6 weeks as I play basketball again at 45 and i think my knees do feel better the next day. I ran out before my next shipment so i went a few days, and I will say my knee pain yesterday was more than usual. It is hard to say as I do take other joint supplements.

The best way to deal with joint pain is pain management. Hell, the best way to deal with most pain is pain management. I.e. learning how to deal with pain yourself. Hate to say it, but things like Collagen haven't been shown in reliable studies to do much for that.

Honestly, as long as people have a good healthy balanced diet, they probably won't need collagen except in specific situations that might call for it. It cannot hurt you though. So try it. A lot of it is something you honestly won't be able to tell if it is actually working or not. So knock yourself out. But if you want to save a few bucks, its a supplement I'd skip. My 2 cents.

As long as you realize (and you totally may) that it is not a complete protein. If it is more protein you need and you are taking it before bed, I'd suggest taking casein protein before bed. It is complete, slow digesting (great for when you sleep) and helps to make up for any loss of protein. The powder is great, but casein is also in Greek yogurt, milk and cottage cheese.

Just ordered some Ancient Nutrition, hoping it will help with joint pain but if my hair thickens up a little too I won't complain. Should I add this to my morning smoothie or have it before bed?

I've unfortunately had a bad history with whey and casein protein powders. Stomach doesn't tolerate it very well. I mainly throw it in with the magnesium at night since it mixes well versus a chalky powder. Just a scoop in a glass and mix with a spoon.

Evidence points to placebo. Maybe if you are on very low protein diet the extra amino acids may help you. Or you could just eat protein.
