I use my 2 year old daughter for weight on my hiking pack. I got a good workout and we get to spend quality time together. Win win.
I've lost 15 lbs, and my mile jogging pace has dropped by a full 1:30/mile.CC09LawAg said:
It's also a great/subtle reminder of exactly how much harder your body has to work with the extra weight.
If you slowly add on 20 pounds, it is less noticeable (if at all) the additional stress you are putting on your body.
Strap on a 20 pound vest and you're reminded of how big a difference it is in your exertion level vs. once you take it off. It was kind of eye opening. A good incentive to not add on an extra 20 pounds to carry around 24/7.

Keep moving! I started running 50 years ago. Dropped 50 pounds over about six months. Ran around 45,000 miles over the next 45 years. Now at almost 86, I walk 2.1 miles daily. The 0.1 is for good measure. Have a streak going. This is day 980; goal is 1001 before taking off a day.
