Casual clothing for tall skinny guys?

H&F board, I have a new issue. As I documented in this thread (I'm a bragging thread), I've dropped over 60 pounds. I'm just barely shy of 6'6", and weighed in at 218.5lbs this morning.

Nothing I have fits. And finding clothes at my size is very challenging. Orvis L-Talls are pretty good. But I'm having trouble outside of their limited selection. My dress shirt is 16 or 16.5 x 37.

So, fellow beanpolls, who are your favorite brands for casual clothes?

A lot of my athleisure wear comes from Hylete. Some products come in a tall or long option.

Edit: I also shop a fair amount at Eddie Bauer and they seem to always have a nice selection for longer/taller.

Land's End. All of my khakis, polos, and long-sleeved shirts are from LE.

I still fit that description at 6'3" and ~170-175. Lululemon has been good as it has a more athletic fit. Large doesn't feel baggy along the sides and the sleeves aren't too short for me. Due to your height, I bet XL would fit well for you. I do feel they run longer which is good for us tall dudes.

I can usually get by with a medium t-shirt but if it shrinks any, the length becomes too short for me. I'm definitely a Medium Tall size but that doesn't exist much.

My recent job has me wearing more dress clothes and that has been a bit of a challenge without a tailor. I've found Peter Millar works well. Large dress shirts are slim enough with the right sleeve length. Their polos are odd. Sometimes even a small is long enough; probably because their golf shirts. I have a few Eton's but damn those aren't cheap but fit so well.

Super stoked at your progress this last year!

I'm 6'6" and bounce between 220 and 230. Finally found some athletic pants I love at https://americantall.com/

Their men's clothes are designed for 6'3" to 7'1" so I'm actually on the shorter end. They have a large range of stuff, but the pants are the only thing I've tried (so far).

J Crew might work. I'm 6'4" and I get all of my clothes from there. Not sure if they offer tall sizes or not, though.

J.Crew has a limited selection of Tall sizes that fit me pretty well, I don't bother with their normal stuff.

I just learned to live with the more limited selections in many cases. 6'5" and sit around 210lbs.

In addition to things mentioned, I like the T-shirts from True classic Tees, Their long bodies fit well and have enough color options for me. The fit is more athletic which is really nice.

For dress shirts, I just started have them made to me by Hockerty.com. Made to measure shirts start at $69 but are made to fit you in whatever type of fit you like.

Another options is Old Navy/Gap/Banana Republic have Tall options online to an extant. Had decent luck there.

The past few years have seen a lot more options online finally.

Have some luck with Old Navy but they are short. Duluth Trading has tall shirts that are actually tall. When I am conceal carrying I tend to go with the Duluth since they are longer.

Found my people!

Adding this thread to the watchlist.

I have some button downs from Old Navy that do well, LT Slim Fit. Tried some J Crew shirts this week but they didn't work...I think they were regular fit not slim. Got some more shirts (button down) coming in, can't remember the brand.

Lululemon is a good aforementioned suggestion. I have 1 pair of their pants and it's a great fit.

I have a couple Duluth tall shirts, but mainly they are my casual wear or around house wear. 2 of the 3 of them are a little looser and 1, a long sleeve, is loose but not overly loose.

Express men had some really nice slim fit dress shirts and regular shirts/sweaters. I struggle to find shirts that don't have too much "baggage" in the midsection, but have found success shopping there.

Try Carhartt for t-shirts. They are longer than normal t-shirts and are made with a heavier weight cotton.

LL Bean has tall sizes

The issue with Carhartt and Duluth is they both are heavy cotton, nice for the winter but suck during the rest of the year.

Banana Republic has really good well fitting clothes. Most brands that have big and tall are outdoor and ruggedized or just large and baggy for overweight customers.

I usually order custom sizes from their online shop. Online they have a tall version of their dress shirts with long sleeves and more length for tucking in, and also longer inseam options on the pants than you usually find in store. Some do their pants run a little slim and tight fitting so I actually get 1" size bigger in the waist than I do with other brands, but the fit ends up being perfect.

I would try the different pants fits on in store to see how the shirts fit in the chest and arms, and pants fit in the waist and crotch areas, then go online and order the tall shirts and longer inseam pants.

They usually have 2 or 3 deep discount sales a year, especially near the holidays, where pants or shirts are like 40-50% off, that's when I buy.

I'm 6'3" 185 LBs

Their shirts don't last. The fit is really good, but I can't stand the degradation in quality and wrinkles the shirts get. Too much maintenance in my opinion so I stopped buying from Express.

I like the Hanes black label t-shirts from Target. They have more length than most other t-shirt brands without being overly huge and baggy.

Old navy is for preteens. Even an XL I can barely fit my arm through the sleeve, and I'm not that big. Any muscle at all and their fits are way to small, a fit made for high school freshman in my opinion.

Agreed, I have a skinny build and an XL tall is a smedium on me and I am only 6'1" and go between 200-210

Boots, levis, belt, pearl snap shirts, and a hat should be casual enough for anyone.
