I'm a big guy, I need to lose weight, and I'm looking for a meal replacement shake. Several years ago I successfully lost weight using Weight Watchers, and I used Shakeology as a meal replacement for breakfast every day. I didn't think Shakeology tasted all that great, but it was palatable. The problem is that it's way to expensive, so I don't want to go that route again.

What suggestions do you have for a meal replacement shake that helps with weight loss and tastes good (or at least palatable)?

I like the Huel Black shakes. Just a more nutritionally complete supplemental protein shake, but I do not recommend shakes as a meal replacement. Please change your nutrition. Once you rip the bandaid of the shakes off, you'll end up right back at the same place. Change your lifestyle and make it sustainable long term, not just a diet.

Replace breakfast with not eating anything at all. Then eat real, whole foods for lunch and dinner. Mostly protein and veggies.

It's ok to be hungry for a few hours. It's actually really good for you.

This. I've been doing this for a few months now and I am never hungry anymore in the morning.
Get up, drink some water, then start on my coffee. Feel better than I ever have and lost 35 pounds so far.

Beat me to it. I was going to say replace breakfast with black coffee.

Huel has good options. I use the regular, black, and hot&savory.

If you must do a shake, id use synthetic 6 for flavor, then add milk, oats, almonds, banana, peanut butter and yogurt. You can play with it. The cals can add up, but damn they are good.

I eat half a tub of kroger carb master yogurt with a scoop of protein powder in it. Its almost purely protein amd tastes great.

I'd you're serious about losing weight, try one meal a day - every other day. Then when you get where you want, do one meal a day. And finally a sensible lunch and dinner with 18 hours between dinner and lunch the next day.

Thank me later.

Wait, so you're saying eat one meal every other day? Total? Then when you reach your goal weight go to one meal every day? Then eventually just lunch and dinner?

So what are you eating for your one meal every other day? How many calories? What types of foods?

Yes, it could be read that way but he means every other day eat 1 meal, then eat 'normal' on alt days.

I was serious about losing weight. Lost 60+ lbs and have kept it off for years. I didn't and don't do this. Everybody is different. Different things work for different people.

I have a half portion (or whole, if hungry) of a Muscle Milk coffee flavored shake in the morning. Simple and start with a good protein baseline for the day. Intermittent fasting has also helped fix my overeating tendency. I relearned to feel satisfied before full. I'm also lower than I've been since campus days.
