I apologize for the delay. At home with two kids and Covid this past week. What have you tried so far? My honest experience is that few things can actually correct an anterior pelvic tilt.

Sounds like a hernia. Get it checked out.

Really, all I've tried is a number of stretches that I found online. Did it for a few months pretty consistently but with no results. I've read the cause is from week abs and tight hamstrings, is this correct?

Any recommendations for knees that constantly feel tight? I don't feel like it's muscle related… more tendons and ligaments… make sense and thank you!

Any certain position make it feel more tight? Any previous injuries in the area?

I got pain behind both knees. Just started cycling again. Did I push it too hard? Will a knee brace help when I ride? Currently icing them and rest. Want to get back on the bike. I've read recovery riding may help?
Thanks."

Any recommendations?

I'm not the PT, but have you been fit on your bike before? Improper position can cause knee pain, among other things.

It's that time of the year. I would once again like to offer my services to you the Health and Fitness degenerates who can't seem to stay healthy.

If you have any injuries you are dealing with feel free to post here and I'll do my best to answer them.
Thanks for this. Can you offer any advice around correcting anterior pelvic tilt? I've suffered some lower back issues in the past. Back pain has been better unless I sit for long periods but the pelvic tilt has gotten worse.
I typically lift/run for exercise but don't really know what to do to get this problem fixed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Looks like doc got busy. Anyone else had to deal with Anterior Pelvic Tilt? I'd rather not pay money to correct this if I don't have to. I've done a google search and tried some things to no avail.
I've dealt with this to some degree. When I was young and first started squating and deadlifting, we were taught to over arch our back to protect it. Years of lifting that way through my teens and 20's and into my 30's led to issues. Combine that with tight hip flexors, and glute issues from sitting a lot for work, and it became a problem that I did not even know I had. There is no magic cure that I have found. I've spent 8 years now doing yoga to gain flexibility and everything I do, be it yoga or lifting weights, I focus on pulling the belly in and pelvis back and keeping a neutral spine. It's gotten somewhat better and back pain is not as big of an issue for me as it once was.

Yes, I got fitted when I bought it 3 years ago.
I took it and got fitted again last week. They made a few adjustments to it. Raised my saddle height a bit and moved my saddle forward a bit.
I've laid off for almost a week. Gonna try a nice and easy ride tomorrow and see how I feel during and after it.
Thanks for the suggestion though.

Do you have any recommendations on the west side of Houston (Spring Branch, Memorial, Westchase in general)? I am dealing with knee pain that I am relatively certain is IT band related at the moment, but I have also been dealing with a number of things in the past 18 months or so, including plantar fasciitis and hip weakness and discomfort. The way I've been going about this on my own don't seem to be working well enough, so I am strongly considering a hard break from running and getting help in rebuilding from scratch.

just running. feels good to stretch. Just tight now six days in, but can definitely tell its injured. walking normal with no limp.

compression sleeves. how long do i need to give it before trying to run again?
aggiederelict

I would just ease back into lite running this weekend. Wear the compression sleeve and if is starts back up again then shut it down quickly. The key is slowly ramp back up and not go from no pain back to your regular running schedule.

I have heard good things about Sculpt U. They are more centrally located I believe than what you said but they should be able to help or point you in the right direction.

Great thread. Do you come across Piriformis injuries often? Long recovery time from this type of injury?

Apologies in advance if this has already been asked…

I've received conflicting info on how much weight I should put on an anterior hip replaced leg the first few weeks of pt while using a walker. One therapist says none, one says just lite toe touches, another recommends 25% body weight. I am able to traverse up and down stairs without any pain, which tells me I am able to withstand a good amount of body weight for a second or two.

Not looking to push the limits… just curious what the general consensus is.

Thanks.

I was taken off using a walker the second day post op for both anterior hip replacements. Taken off using a cane after day 3 post op. I used the non surgical leg for climbing and descending stairs for several weeks. Listen to your PT though. They should all be on the same page.

Thanks. I have no assigned therapist; doing all the work by myself at the house. I do have a followup with surgeon later this week, so hoping to get more clarity at that point.

What did they tell you at discharge? It tends to vary by surgeon on how much weight they are comfortable with.
It would/should be some where under "precautions" or "weight bearing status" on stuff they gave you. You may see NWB, TTWB, PWB, or something else with a WB in it.

I'm 2 weeks post Houston Marathon. I have significant pain in my left foot that started about a week ago. I tried running around that same time and couldn't make it a mile and had to walk home. The pain is along the arch and on top of my foot closer to my big toe than my heel but also travels up to my ankle on top. It hurts when walking, when I point my toes up or down or twist my foot in any direction. Seems to be getting slightly worse as the days go by. No way I could go run still. Any suggestions?

Anyone know of a good PT in DFW (I'm in Carrollton) that can help with ankle mobility? I have some stretches to do, but it's so bad, it affects my running.

Been having some knee discomfort - front of the knee below the kneecap and has been mainly been around the inside and middle. I'm having trouble with squats, going down stairs, and lots of knee popping. I'm thinking plica or PFPS
aggiederelict
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Not everyone has a plica and it is usually a diagnosis of exclusion. PFPS is more likely. You had your form looked at?

The popping isn't painful. Sometimes the knee has felt like it's giving way when I run, but not all the time.
