So I ran a trail yesterday for the first time, and just left my car unlocked w/ keys in it (dumb, I know). As soon as I got out of eyesight of my car I got nervous. Can anyone recommend a running belt/fanny pack? Don't need anything big, as I don't run with anything but keys, and a little water bottle and maybe a gel pack. Tia

I use this one. Slide my phone, CC, work badge. Place the weight on the small of my back and hardly notice it. Works great with Bluetooth headphones too.

The only one I've used that felt OK is the Flip Belt.

I'm a big fan of the Naked Running Band, then next would be the Ultimate Direction Utility Belt. Both of these come in many different sizes so they are designed to slip on and fit securely, without buckles or adjustment straps. The benefit of these is that they do not bounce like many of the other bands. And unlike vests, waistbelts help you stay cooler and avoid a sweaty back.

I've taken the NRB out for 10+ hours at a time. I've carried a 600ml soft flask with water filter, gloves, sunglasses, windbreaker, food, satellite tracker, phone, and first aid. The only time I'll break out a vest is when I don't have access to water or need to carry ice axe, microspikes, or other things like that.

If you are just going around town, the NRB would hold 2-3 500ml soft flasks, depending on what else you carry.

+1 for the Naked Running Band. It might be bigger than what you want if you're only carrying a key and a gel or two, but if you end up doing much more than that then it's perfect.

I use a flipbelt and like it a lot. For what you would put in it, a flipbelt would be sufficient.

I have an older version of the flipbelt and my only complaint is that if I take my phone (Samsung galaxy S7 with phone case) it is a very tight fit. The newer models are tight, but not as tight.

I use a generic belt I got off of amazon years ago. It is just an elastic belt with a fanny pack-type stretchy pouch that fits my iPhone 8+. It is awesome. My wife has a flip belt and I have used it in a pinch. I prefer mine. I have found that I have to wear the pouch in the front across my hips and the part in the rear very low below my buttocks. My wife makes fun of that and I'm sure it looks silly but it doesn't ride up on me like everything else I've tried.

I use a waist belt that holds two 8 oz bottles and my galaxy s10 phone. I love it and never run without as i hate carrying anything in my hands. I cant remember the name of the band.

I love my Fitletic belt. The bottle holders can be removed if I don't need them. It holds my phone, has loops for five gel packs, and has anchors for a race bib.

I know keys have changed, but I always tied mine into my shoelace. I always "double-knot" my laces so the come undone. But I guess if running trails, you might be running through some mud/water.

I will often hide them under in the C of the frame of my truck, or in the wheel. I try to be discreet or make sure no one is watching. Probably not the best in terms of security.

I have a SPI belt and it does fine. A certain poster told me not to buy any more.

My running shorts have a key pocket for when I drive and park to begin my run.

It will be nice when those Ford patents expire.

I run more than 2,000 miles/year and at least 1,000 of those miles are with a flipbelt (the other thousand are on a treadmill). I have three of them so I can't lose them. I haven't tried the others but flipbelt has really worked well for me.

I have a company ford car I take everywhere and it doesn't have the button entry. I feel like it's a weird request to make from my boss for my next car.

"Ummm I need it so I can leave my keys in the car when I take your company car out on runs."

I was doing a half marathon training run in McAllister park in SA and at mile 8 I figured out that they had fallen out somewhere. That sucked.

+1 for Flip belt. Have several and have used them for years. They're comfortable and hold my iPhone 8+ as well as nutrition.

I am intrigued by that Naked belt though. Might give it a shot.
