How long do you want to ignore this user?
I am in Vegas this week and booked my booty crack of dawn flight to get there about 7 AM so I could go out to RRC and get a long run in before my conference started.

Looked at Strava and it looks like there's dozens of trails to take. Was curious if anybody had one they recommended. Seems like there's some longish 10-12 miles ones and a 6 mile Calico loop. But segment explorer is always kinda busted anyways.

I only get one shot at it and wanted to use it on a fun one instead of some lame hiking trail.

If you figure it out, lmk. I have to go later in the year, and I hate Vegas.

I absolutely hate Vegas and I'm staying at the Cosmo which is the most flashy, over sexed hotel that I know of. Everything about that place is antithetical to me.

Will do on scouting report.

Last 4 times I've been in Vegas it has been to go to death valley, death valley, Zion NP, and Zion NP.

Out of those four trips, I voluntarily stayed one night in Vegas, and quickly remembered why I get off the plane and into a rental car.

Birth of my daughter kept me from going to Vegas last year for a conference, but won't be able to get out of it this year.

I ran in Red Rock Canyon a few years ago in mid-January. My highlight of the run, aside from getting off the strip, was seeing cacti in snow.

We ran the White Rock Mountain loop (https://www.redrockcanyonlv.org/white-rock-la-madre-spring-loop/) with a little bit tacked from the parking lot and also going down the La Madre Spring. We had to park in the area labeled "Little White Rock" and walk up a road... I don't remember why, though. This put the run just under 9 miles and 1800'.

Routefinding was pretty straight forward, lots of beautiful views, not many people. It was a nice escape.

I actually went there last year and almost did that path but the lot was full. Was with my wife and she didn't want to mess around with it. Kept going to the next spot.

It was a Sunday morning so I'm hoping Monday traffic will be lower. I'll take a look! Thanks!

Will be a crapload of Dell folks in Vegas this week for manager meetings. Very happy I don't have to go.

I'm there for Palo Alto.

Thank God y'all sold off sonic wall. Could have been a blood bath on the strip.

Just look on the trail map and take one of the easy trails. I hiked the one right out of the visitor center. I was in Vegas with 5 kids the week after New Years. We did nothing in LV except stay in the condo for 5 nights. Went to Zion, Death Valley, Grand Canyon, and Red Rocks, one day each. No entry fees, except for RR, because of the shutdown. We had this coyote in Death Valley that came right up to the car. I read last week that they had to euthanize him. People were feeding him because of the shutdown.

Wow, those are long round trips for a day visit to those locations.

Grand Canyon was the longest. In the car at 8, drive 4.5 hours, eat sandwiches, hike the rim for 3 hours, and drive home. Listen to Cowboys beat Seahawks on Sirius in car. Profit. Dad runs a tight ship.

Was a bad start to the day. I specifically flew out to Vegas at 6 in the morning so i could go get a car and get a couple of hours out there. then get to the hotel and shower before my conference started at.

Instead, i sat on the tarmac in Dallas for 2 hours. Still got here with enough time to go do a run, but abbreviated. Go to Red Rock and it's closed. I remember Calico Springs showed up on Strava to the east. Don't know what was up with that.

Was a bit less of an experience, but still very beautiful. Was planning on 8-12 but got 6 instead. .
