The shirts are really big even for unisex. I got a small and it could easily be a medium. I suggest trying to get a smaller size.

That got big quickly a few days after announcing it.

Not at all. We hoped/believed it would be big, but we couldn't have imagined 5k people from 48 states and 7 countries in 13 days. Honestly was such a blast. Lots of logistics for a first time event, but it all turned out awesome.

Yeah, can't do much about traffic... Just need to announce start time is 8am, but really plan for it being 9am.

I was coming from south on 2818 and the right lane was backed up to George Bush at about 8AM.

I went up to F&B and came down vet road to university from back side... being a local helped me avoid much of the traffic.... should have left earlier from house though.

How many participants?

Had a lot of fun but a few logistics suggestions.

1. Announce start time earlier than it really is as traffic was a bear (or have shuttles as options).

2. Have the costume contest before the run. Gives folks a better chance go participate and then change out of costume without being sweaty and nasty.

3. Have demarcation for walking side vs running side. I heard mixed instructions as we went so spent a lot of time weaving.

4. Have Chuck and speakers in a higher position as it was impossible to see them. Also could not hear anything at all unless directly in front of the sound system.

Had a great time, very well run especially for s first time event

I was able to keep my beard on until just after mile 2, then my face got too sweaty. How guys run with beards is beyond me. It was so awful.

Great job on the costumes y'all!

"Ran" w/ my wife and 2 boys. First 5K in a long time. 10 year old is looking forward to the next. 13 year old, well, is a 13 year old.

Considering the size of the event and how the response was much, much larger than anticipated I think it went very smoothly. Great job Chris and co.

Will try to post pics later if I can remember how.

I am friends with two retired game wardens (husband and wife) that were there in black dusters and hats. Surprised that didn't win the costume contest...

Yeah the camera guy as running next to me and I told him this is what regret looks like. That outfit was way to hot.
