When the weather is nice, I go outside as much as possible. GF still uses the bike religiously. My usage will increase as it gets colder and darker.

I greatly prefer outdoor rides. I think it really is one of the more fun and enjoyable forms of exercise.

But it's just such a hassle. You have the process of getting the bike ready, which isn't the end of the world. But, on top of that, being in Houston there is zero chance I'm riding on the roads. We do actually have a pretty good trail network that's easy access from my house. But the trails have gotten just as bad between pedestrians on their phones, dogs on 15' leashes, etc.

Long story short. I prefer riding outdoors but do the peloton because of the ease and safety of it. It is also a little better for targeting and staying in specific zones and not worrying about traffic, stopping, etc.

Yeah, we have ours in a sitting room just off the bedroom. I have the treadmill in the basement gym. It's great because time is not an excuse. You can knock out a 30 minute ride/run no matter what you have going on that day.

But indoor bike/treadmill doesn't compare to fresh air, nature, natural hills, etc... Plus taking the dogs out for a walk/run is great for them. They love it so much. They get dejected when I don't take them out in the morning.
