Short answer: yes.

To me you become more a part of the bike when you clip in and have more control. I have owned a pair of shimano's and a pair of the peloton shoes. Don't really see much of a difference comfort wise. Just be sure to order the right size and as frustrating as it is if you get them in and they don't feel right send em back and exchange until they do.

Second for getting the shoes somewhere else. I bought my shoes at the local bike shop (because I liked my bike shop, you could find them cheaper online) and ordered the clips from Amazon.

This is correct. When you are clipped in (an assuming proper pedal stroke), you get a full revolution of power. Not just the pedal mashing.

Yes, being able to clip in is much more comfortable and efficient than using straps (called "toe clips") over tennis shoes. The sole of the cycling shoe is much stiff than a typical running/trainer shoe and will transfer more of your power from your legs to the pedal stroke because it won't flex as much. I don't know about the Peloton branded shoes, but I think Lake and Bontrager are known for running wider, and quite a few brands do make wider sizes. I have a wider forefoot and a narrow heel, and I do well with Garneau brand shoes.

I use Garneau too because I have a wide forefoot and a narrow heel and wear a size 50. Great shoe with 0 problems so far

Btw, as far as physique. I figured I'd update this thread. I would consider myself in really good shape before peloton. Good diet, 6 days a week gym attendance.

I'm down 12 pounds after the peloton. This blows my mind.. I did 3.5+ miles of running per day before hand, so it's not like newly introduced cardio

That AT Ride to Greatness session just kicked my ass. I tried doing 65 resistance at 90-100/30 second intervals. Came out of it feeling like I was going to puke my heart up through my nose lol.

Need a heart rate monitor recommendation if anyone has one. I got the Apple Watch but it doesn't pair to my OG Peloton. Looking at the Scosche Rhythm + or the Polar H9 currently, but open to other suggestions. TIA.

Bike+ estimates shipping 6-8 weeks out.
Original Bike estimates are 1-3 weeks out.

Had our bike since Nov 18. We are getting intermittent white screens during rides and it reloads to the home page. Anyone else had this issue?

I've had my bike since 2018 and have never had that happen. I'd call Peloton Custom Service. When my belt developed a hole, they were great to deal with.

Thanks for the rec. It definitely worked. You have to hit the app on your watch and your phone but it cast my HR perfectly and never lost signal.

Was hoping to do AT's Ride to Greatness at 12:30, but have plans around that time. Did Olivia's 45min HIIT and Hills ride instead. If you are looking for a really good, tough ridehighly recommend that one.
