There's a good number of beginner rides. In fact I think there's an entire beginner series to start with.

Start with 20 minutes and go up from there.

I've had my peloton since Christmas and was blissfully unaware that power zones existed until I stumbled across this thread... Just did my first FTP test. I hate you all.

Low impact rides are good or a power zone beginner ride, but as Denis Morton says they make recommendations you make decisions. You can keep the resistance lower and cadence lower to fit your fitness.

First ride done. Whoop connected great, which was nice.

Looking forward to having a little less belly hanging over the belt

You may have caved, but certainly won't regret it. Welcome aboard the power zone pain train.

Stacked the Jess King 30 minute ride with her 15 minute HIIT this morning. My first 2 live rides. Best output for a 30 minute ride.

I'm using the Pelaton for the next month or so to train for the MS-150 & will switch time road bike when the weather improves (I live in OKC).

If I did just under 30 miles in a 90 minute class this morning, how should I expect that to translate to the road bike?

I guess here I should clarify I haven't owned a road bike in 8 years and am currently looking at a purchase if anyone has a recommendation.

Honestly, with the wide variety of peloton bike power calibrations, it can be pretty hard to correlate directly to how you will do on a bike on real roads. It also depends on what kind of road you would be riding (flat, rolling hills, steep climbs, etc). The best I can tell you is that my peloton calibration tends to show me about 1mph faster than I would be able to ride at the same exertion/HR level on a flat road. When it comes to hills, my average goes down a fair amount because I am heavy right now and my p/w ratio sucks. YMMV

My wife finally did her first 60 minute PZ ride today for our challenge. She killed it, of course, despite her being nervous about it going in.

Looking forward to seeing ya, TzionTexas! I'm TbirdTrey. Don't try to keep up with Nitro right out the gate like my dumbass did haha.

just added you - I'm megbmedina on the bike. welcome to the fun! If you add the #TexasAggies and/or #TexAgs tags to your profile, it will allow you to see people who are on the same ride, even if you don't follow each other. It's nice to filter rides by TexasAggies and then throw out high fives during the rides.

What Garmin device do you have?

I use my Fenix to connect heart rate monitoring. So the watch automatically logs that as "indoor cycling" but that doesn't get you all the power stats.

I don't think the two will sync rides directly. The best way seems to be to have it sent to Strava and the sync it to Garmin Connect from Strava. I think there are some apps out there you can pay for like SyncMyRide that will automate that, but it seems easy enough to just sync between Strava and Garmin manually.

You need a #2 phillips head to remove the screen. The bike itself is like 135lbs, so plan on two people lifting it in your car/truck.

Removing and reattaching the screen is super easy. You just need a second person to hold it in place while you unscrew/screw.

Wait 255 on your first 30 min ride ever without clipping in?

Lol, you'll be just fine.

Just wrapped up ride #280 tonight. To recap, took 6 months off after covid, getting back at it now. 7 rides the last three weeks, first 6 were 30 min, got my first 45 min ride (PZE) done tonight since probably June!

As I had forgotten I prefer 45 min rides to 30 min. Is anyone else like this? I also prefer 75 min to 60 min rides. And frankly **** 90 min rides, that hell can kiss my ass.

I think a live FTP test ride would be a lot of fun. I don't have any of the social media things, but someone should throw it out there to him and see if he can accommodate at the end of our current challenge.

I added everyone in #TexAgs after my ride tonight.

Mine is private just so my boss can't see if I ride during work hours, but I'll approve y'all.

I also prefer 45 mins to 30 mins. **** the rest of what you said, though, lol. Weirdly enough, I'd rather do two 60 minute rides back to back than a 75 min or 90 min ride.

Just found this thread, lots of good info and tips here. We've had ours since June 2019 and usually ride 5 times a week. I'm an east coast guy so my week day rides are probably before most of you all are awake (5:45). Usually ride around 8 or 9 on the weekends.

Big fan of any rock ride, HIIT, climbs and of course PZ rides. I'm a pick PZ Matt and Olivia fan, and also dig Emma and Kendall for music ad HIIT rides.

You can find me with the #Texags, I'm CycleDadChris, and I'll follow back and look for you all on the leaderboard!

Couple questions:

1. Is the extra $600 worth the newer bike? I see the plus of the auto resistance feature.

2. Are there classes that are good for weight lifters? Bike would primarily be for my wife, but I'm thinking 2-3 days a week and work it around deadlift and squat days.
