6.25 miles on the watch at a 7:34 pace, which for me is hauling. Took over 4 minutes off my time from last year. Whoop.

Happy Thanksgiving, all.

Yeah it is. Bunch of former Woodlands cross country guys come out, along with current guys and smoke all the rest of us. Steve Magness (4:01 1600m in high school) won with a 24:24. Smoking!

Yeah he was. I think he was there either last year or the year before too. And yeah, he went to one of the Klein schools.

When Magness was at Oak, Klein had two kids that were real studs. Eric Stanley ended up at tu and eventually focussed on the 800 meters and then Steve Brown(?) ended up at Providence or UConn and did real well too. There was a guy at Magnolia that did well in the 800 with a Hispanic last name and ended up at tu also. The Woodlands was turning out their normal amount of athletes at that time as was Kingwood. Northern Harris County and southern Montgomery County really had some great competition among school at that time.
