I drive analog Porsche's. Unfortunately, Porsche will continue to suffer financially until it starts to deliver 7 spd manual transmission petrol engines.... essentially return to its roots.

The electric motors and PDK transmissions are crippling them IMO.

Redevelop the Mezger engine and watch sales skyrocket. I drive a 2002 turbo and that engine is awesome. Probably wake the neighbors up in the mornings.

I mean this thing looks cool, but it isn't for me.

I watched the video and went to the link. I still don't know what the hell this is. Is it all electric? A hybrid? Modern advertising sucks. I assume it's electric and they just don't want to come out and say it.

It's not all electric unless the fuel gage is for battery power.

Ah good catch. I did see what looked like a drive gear counter in the tach also. Some actual specifications on that web site would have been nice. Seems most traditional Porche owners are going to want to see specs. But maybe they aren't marketing to traditional Porche owners anymore.

It is a concept car

5:08 in the video, mag-safe holder flips down to hold iPhone, "Now you have a navigation system, this is all you need"

I couldn't figure it out either. Short on details.

I saw a short low rev video on Facebook. Supposedly a flat 8 and "it's ready to accept a manual transmission".

I agree there is clearly still demand for a gasoline only or gasoline primary power train, but I'm not sure I agree about the PDK. Even before electrification when Porsche was doing well, wasn't the PDK chosen by a large majority of buyers?

There's nothing wrong with PDK as an option, the problem is when they make it the only option. Great for the keeping up with the Joneses crowd and track days, but lacks the engagement that driving enthusiasts demand in a street car.

Because ordering a manual transmission is almost impossible these days. In fact, last year they didn't produce one (pretty sure it was last year). I have no real problem with the PDK... it is a really advanced transmission. Have one on a Cayenne. Not on the 911... 6 spd.

I think the 911 GT3 touring is still available w/ a manual as well as a couple other variants and of course, the 718. My local dealer had a Sport Classic last time was in there. Those are beautiful cars. There are a couple listed on BAT.

I suppose you could be correct. Its a dying vehicle though. And don't get me started about the size of the modern 911s. I argue they aren't sports cars and are just that... touring cars. Compare the 991 and 992 to the size of a 912. Or heck my 996TT.

They have grown in size. I get the modern conveniences. If I won one.... would I keep it or sell it? Sell and buy an old 912 in a heartbeat. Thats just me.

Guess I was wrong in my statement though.
