That guy did not look comfortable getting into that little clown car.

Passenger space in it is pretty massive even though the exterior of the vehicle looks small. 6'1" guy is unable to stretch his legs out fully and touch the front wall of the passenger compartment by a good 3" or so. You'd have to be like 6'5" to start to be uncomfortable. The reason it looks more cramped in that video is because it's a test vehicle with a bolted on steering wheel and pedals.

They have Florida tags. Did they make a wrong turn somewhere?

The one I saw on 610 the other day had Florida tags too.

These things were everywhere at Love Field yesterday, appear to be fully operational.

Cybercab is still just a cash flow loser at the moment but TSLA as a company is smashing it despite killing off 40 percent of their lineup for vehicles.

I think Cybercab is going to turn into a money printer for them, subject to a vandalism campaign by nut jobs and/or approvals in various cities/states to operate, but that will probably take 2+ years to really unfold.

Not a Tesla fanboy but I find it interesting to see some of the choices they made since it is an extremely purpose built vehicle. The rear tires are truck tires. 33" and high load rating so they won't need to be replaced as frequently. And I believe the track is narrower in the rear than the front.

The wheel covers actually extend onto the rubber of the tires and they themselves have a flexible edge so as to not damage the sidewall. Air management around the wheels is big for aero efficiency I guess.

Cybercabs with HW4+ and the new TSMC/Samsung chips won't be on the streets apparently until mid-2027 likely. I am guessing this means a similar upgrade for MY and 3 vehicles over the next couple of years.

Quote:

Here's why these vehicles are almost certainly running on the upgraded AI4+ architecture, NOT the next-gen AI5 chip:

The Silicon Timeline
AI5 just taped out earlier this year. Volume manufacturing with TSMC/Samsung isn't slated to scale until mid-2027 or even early 2028. You can't mass-produce a commercial Robotaxi fleet today on silicon that is barely out of the prototyping phase.

The Memory Bottleneck
Standard HW4/AI4 consumer vehicles use a 2-SoC layout with 16GB of RAM each (32GB total). As FSD models transition to pure end-to-end neural nets, the true bottleneck isn't just raw compute; it's memory capacity and bandwidth.

Saw three of these running around Dallas this week. They are ugly as sin.

Still weird to look over and see a car driving itself.
