Need some help before I start throwing money at parts…

1997 F250 7.3 PS.

Sat for a few months with a bad water pump. Got around to changing it, changed the CPS sensor while it was all out, changed fan clutch as well, two new batteries. Fired up and ran great for about 3 miles or so. Then low power, check engine, stall and die. Start up and idle rough, check engine, still no codes. Was able to limp home.

I've lost the passenger side cylinders.
- Verified by unplugging the 9-pin on the valve cover on each side separately. Rough idle from start….
- no change with passenger side unplugging,
- stall out when driver side unplugged so points to the passenger side cylinders not firing.

ICP sensor needs replaced as well as it had some oil in it but to test I unplugged it and no change in idle, still lost cylinders….

I'm going to run an ohm test on the 9-pin connector to check that. My Scanner doesn't run an injector buzz test but I could get forscan?

I'm really thinking the IDM is bad. Harness and connectors look good, grounds look good, all fuses in working order. I'm guessing there was some moisture/water in there and when I got out driving, it sloshed around and fried it… but before I buy a refurbed one, wanted to ask here if anything else I should do to check or at least verify without a doubt it's the IDM.

Any suggestions on where to source one? There's a lot on the web that are refurbed at different price points.

Other thoughts are something with HPOP but would online cylinder bank be affected with this?

What's the bottom of your fuel bowl look like?
Trash?

Is the bowl heater loose and grounding out against the housing?

Fuel bowl ok. Changed oil and fuel filter as well. Didn't mention that. Bowl heater all appears to be in tact. Not blowing any fuses either. I went ahead and picked up a new valve cover gasket because after closer inspection to the connectors, there was some oil seepage. Got all but the last bolt back towards the cab out on the valve cover. Gave up last night after dark. Gonna finish and swap that out in the morning and see what comes of it. Taking a break from any wrenching today.
