Aviators have a pretty bad reliability rating on Consumer Reports. Not sure why Lincoln couldn't get it sorted out. There's nothing inherently difficult about building a mid sized SUV. Great looking vehicles.
I reviewed a lot of on-line forums before I bought my wife's Aviator in November and most of the feedback I found was on the positive side. Time will tell how it holds up over the long run, but my initial impressions are really positive. It seems very solid and the fit and finish are excellent. I was a little worried about the ride with the 22" wheels but it has been great. One recommendation I have is to opt for the full console for the second row if going with captains seats. It's an inexpensive option and the standard mini console looks really cheap IMO. It's surprising even the higher trim packages didn't come standard with the full 2nd row console.
I reached out to North Park, but ended up going with Rogers Lincoln in Midland because they had exactly what we were looking for in stock. They were super easy to work with and Rogers had everything ready to go (with no surprises) when I flew out to pick it up. Both were comparable price wise (with no add-ons) and I had a good experience with both. I can't say that about the Houston Lincoln dealer I visited.
